Hello!
I am making Pattern New Look 6457. I looked at all the craftsters' examples of this pattern on here, and after basting everything together, I've decided that if it's going to flatter me, it needs a fuller skirt, with less gathers. I've already cut out the skirt pieces, so what should I do? These are my thoughts......

1. I can't do a circle skirt. Not enough fabric/it's too late.

2. Should I add Godets? The skirt is gathered already, will it look funny?
so...
3. Should I eliminate the gathers?

4. Could I make it a gored skirt? I'm not sure how to go about doing that?

Or do you think that i'm just being picky...

I think if you are going to go through the time and the money to make something, then you should do everything within your power to ensure that you will love it. As far as to how to fix the skirt, I really don't have any good ideas. I'd say you're best bet is to take and copy what you have now (cut the pieces the same way) on some scrap fabric (old sheets are great, you may have some you can use or you can get them cheaply at thrift stores) and play around with the skirt on that. At least then you'll know or have a good idea about what needs to be done and you won't muck up your nice fabric.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.
