I'm transferring from GRCC to GVSU this fall and was wondering if there are any GVSU crafters on the forum??

GVSU Alumni...I wish there were craftsters there when I was there, maybe I wouldn't have gotten so many weird looks while crocheting in Kirkoff.

I see that this board is kind of old now, but I'm moving up to GVSU in the fall '07 from Lansing and have been hoping there would be some crafty people up there. Are you still a student?

well, i attended gvsu for 5 yrs and have still never graduated lol instead i had a beautiful baby girl and now am moving to colorado in a week! yeehaw! so unfortunately i will not be returning...but if you see rob friedhof in ms3 tell him rachel says hi...he'll prolly laugh b/c for some reason we know all of the same people

I just moved from lansing to Grand Rapids to attend GVSU as well. Every 2nd saturday from 4-9pm there is something called avenue of the arts on Division ave. its ends at cherry (i think, i just moved here so i'm not good with street names) Its by the Division Ave Arts Collective and Skellitones. I just discovered it at the beginning of July while walking to The Black Rose Bar.
There is also a farmers Market every friday on Fulton st. almost to Fuller. you will see it, it goes from 8 to 4 and there are some crafters there too.
Any one know of any craft stores in the downtown area. I go to Hobby Lobby and Joann on 28th usually, but it would be great if i could find a good place to walk to!

sorry, don't know of any places downtown. what kind of crafts are you into? i know of some scrapbooking stores around jenison and some yarn stores around hudsonville and wyoming...also a stamping, yarn, beads and scrapbook store in jenison...

Theres a Michaels in grandville, the hobby lobby in jenison, several different fields fabric locations, threadbender on 44th

I know downtown very well, My first two years of college were at GRCC.
There is a Field's on 44th and Kalamazoo, right across the street from the Post Office, I always shop there after I drop off swap packages.

Ohh thanks gals! I have never heard of fields, i will have to check it out. And I saw threadbender driving and wanted to go back, but couldn't find my way, haha.
I sew, knit and just make messes in general. If any one wants to craft or knows of any avenues to sell crafts let me know!
