Swap name: Verb Swap
Craftster member who is organising this swap: Kitten Wrangler
Sign-up date range: August 10th to August 27.
Date to send item by: September 24th
Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): No way!

All ages allowed? Yes

Swap Organiser herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed at least one swap successfully before signing up for more: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

Details of swap:

Crafters - we will be dealing with that other form of creativity.... words! In particular, verbs. Verbs are doing words. Doing is a verb. There are many other beautiful, wild and weird verbs out there in the jungle of language, and you need to choose your favourite. And using your verb as inspiration, your partner will craft you some items connected somehow back to your verb. The originator of the idea for this swap, Carliegirl, has mentioned these as examples:

FLY:
a pair of wings, a bird design t-shirt, a kite, something with an angel on it, a paper airplane kit....etc.
SING:
something modge-podged with sheet music, bird stationery, a knitted "throat warmer," a microphone pincushion....etc.
JUMP:
a recipe for "Hoppin' John," a pogo stick t-shirt, a handmade jump rope, something with a pair of jumper cables on it, a grasshopper ring....etc.

I think 3 items is a lovely number of items to swap, and at least one of them should be a Medium sized item. If you can nicely and subtly discuss it with your partner, noone should lose face.

There's a long, long lead time on this, because most of the people on the original swap idea thread seemed to want it so. Plus, I'm studying (for a Masters of Editing, natch), and this is my first ever organiser gig, so I'd like the time to make sure that everything is done well. With such a long crafting time, please PM me and your partner regularly, so we can keep up on each other.

Also, coz I had little else to do this weekend, I compiled a list of 150 different verbs to get your thinking started. It's at the bottom of page 2 of this thread. Get 'em while they're fresh!

If you want to participate, PM the following information to me!:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap: Verb Swap

***In my first official screwup as organiser, I was hit with a bout of numerical dyslexia, and didn't click that bingety-bing hadn't posted the proper amount of times yet. Therefore, it's a responsibility I should take on myself (as I will), and it's actually not that bad postage-wise, coz she's in the same state as me. We've got an uneven number of people here, and I'm not bothered by making 2x parcels. Just as long as you guys don't think I'm being greedy.

Smite is a rather nifty verb. I'm trying to think up my own verb - I'm a big fan of big words... I'm contemplating capitulate or procrastinate...

procrastinate probably fits me really well....  Wink

I like smite. That would be a very cool swap word. I would like to participate, not sure if my mom will let me, since I just did one in July. I'll talk to her, this definatly sounds wickedly cool. Well...I should have a job by then...
