Pearliepie, that's so hard!  It's happened to me a few times when I did some things that really turned out well and were emotionally charged for me.  I'd have hard time parting with the piece, but would go ahead and send it out -- and then *nothing*.

To make matters more complicated, my 4-year-old frequently gets upset because she ends up liking what I made and wants to keep it.  It's really hard to explain that it's for someone else, and it's getting harder to justify.

I sent a message to 2 of my swap partners that never acknowledged receipt of their stuff. It was a very "clean" letter, not accusatory in any fashion.  I just let them know that I was hurt by their lack of response.  They both received their packages from me the first week of October. They haven't responded, but that's OK, mainly I wanted them to know how their actions affected me.
I feel like I'm turning into one of those people I used to make fun of when I was younger..."in my day kids had respect dammit! what's this world coming to?!" sheesh, I better go take an anti-geezer pill, a beer will have to suffice tonight instead

Better duck fast, I'm a crack shot!  all my years decorating cakes have given me bigger forearms than Sammy Sosa!  Besides, I don't need showers of fake praise, just some courtesy is all I ask for...

Amen to adding that to the guidelines!  I understand if one can't post pictures.  Not everyone has a camera or even neccessarily a scanner.  Heck, I have a digital camera right now but it's not downloading the pics to the hard drive and I feel terrible about that.  But at least acknowledge that you got it.  Geez!  If one can log onto the board long enough to sign up for it, then they can log on long enough to say, "Thanks Swap Buddy!  I got my ________ in the mail today!  Thanks for all your hard work!"  Bah.  Some people.

well i agree with every comment made so far.  i've only begun swaps in the last few months and well i don't know whether it's me or the posttage here in australia. firstly two dolls just haven't made it to me and this bugs me because one was a journal doll swap and the other was in the doll swap,i have been so looking forward to receiving i've even cleared a corner in my lounge room to have it show, and thats sadly not it, i started a straight doll swap and all things have been ok but a couple have just not pm'd to say they have received to those people who may be reading this it is only comman courtesy to reply, i'm  not forcing a THANKYOU as that could push it but i think i've lost interest in swapping to people in toher countries which saddens me because i was soo excited that my mailman now flies by.
THANKYOU to those who have the courtesy to reply to and keep contact.  Well i do need to wonder maybe it's just me.

Hi all

I was just part of my first swap, and I guess it's not gone that good for me - first off I haven't received my package, and seeing as it was for Halloween, that kinda makes it sadder.  Cry  Also, I have no clue as to whether or not my partner received theirs - which I've already gathered happens now and then to quite a few people.

I was holding out until the last, hoping my package would come.  I know what tam means, maybe it is just me, but I do feel like I've been dropped in a way.  I live in South Africa, so I don't even know if there are any other swapper on the same continent (I'm sure there are  Smiley ). You don't have to PM the person to let them know you got their stuff, even just posting to say you did on the thread is enough.  If a person had 5 minutes to sign up, surely they've got 5 minutes just to say they got they stuff!

Anyway, that's just my feeling, but it does make you wary of swapping - just a little.
Thanks for letting me vent a little.

Edited, cause I find that people do come through in different ways, and I was being repetitive.

M- I honestly swear I sent you your package.
I am freaking out, though, as I sent it the same day/time I sent the Dark Doll to the UK & she hasn't said a (bleeping) thing. I have the receipt with the customs & label #s, stuff sent on October 5th... and no idea what has happened to the packages:(
If you don't get your stuff by the 10th (one month + five days transit) I will make completley random Random package for you & try it again!

IqJones

Don't worry - I know you sent the package (I saw the stuff you sent, but will never get to hold it  Cry)- trust me this is the SA postal services at it's best.  Remember I told you they moved the post-office without any prior notice to the boxholders...well, that's the kind of thing they do.  They're not all bad, but when they screw up, they do it GOOD.  Imagine, going to get your mail, and there's like just a small piece of paper up saying, oh by the way, the PO has moved, please get you new keys here..... We suspect that we've had a few mail items go lost, like regular bills (now that would be nice  Wink

Please don't worry yourself too much, I think it's sad for both of us that the package seems to have gone to the gremlins, and you really don't have to go to any trouble.  These things happen.  As long as you enjoyed the swap, that's cool.  Just knowing that you're worried is bad - DON'T WORRY!  I already feel like I'm making a fuss - we'll meet up again in another swap I'm sure, and that'll be fine!  I sound like a baby throwing her toys out the cot!

Bye (and stop worrying!)
M

I can vouch for Iqjones.  She is a great swapper.  I have been in many swaps with her.  Overseas mailing sucks.  I lost a doll between Minnesota and Australia.  Good luck, M.  I hope your package arrives.
