Hey! I've found my new favourite place to buy clothing: the Primark reject pile aka the sales area...anyway, the top started life as a dress, looking like this:

after a few days, mostly down to my laziness I finally chopped it up and turned it into a beatick (i think that's how it's spelt) top. I tried to make the shape right so that it appears like I have a waist (in reality I have none.) The end result is here:

For some strange reason it reminds me of a smiley face?!  Huh - it's the neckline. I kept the sleeves long so they could be seen under a slightly cropped jacket if that makes any sense...

It looks much better as a beatick. (I think that's how you spell it.)  I don't believe you when you say you have no waist because it looks like you've got one!

you did a really good job on the shirt, but i would have made some minor changes and adjustments while still keeing it a dress, i liked it like that.

*cheers* GO Primark!! Am so lucky to have so many of their stores near me. No wonder I'm poor. Too many shops  Smiley The Top was meant to have a longer bottom part to it but I just got confused with the measuring tape...it was going to be slightly fluted at the bottom and ends of the sleeves as I was going to get stripy fabric but then I stepped into primark. Shall have another go at this idea when I've found the right fabric.

yeah i get all my basics there for stencilling. your top looks very beatnick! (im sure thats what you meant) but i do prefer it a bit longer to cover my bum and still keeping your neckline. it looks much better fitted too. looks great!
