My boyfriends birthday is coming up this monday! Problem is I've only been going out with him like 2 weeks. SO- I dont know exactly what to get him! But I do have one idea- Which is a boredom cure kit, because he is usually very bored. Actually the last message he JUST sent me said
Quote
Good, at least you have something to amuse you when you need it, I've not figured anything out yet.
See what i mean? So this is a good gift for him i think- My problem is... i cant think of much stuff to amuse him!
SO far ive gotten:

Watching Paint dry
Watching Grass Grow (these are the silly ones)
Read a magazine
Read comics
Surf the internet
Search for things on google
Learn the lyrics to O-zone (a romanian band)
Search for cool new bands

Thats all so far. Not all that interesting thus far. This is why i come to you guys!

Some info on him: Hes a gamer- Or somewhat a gamer... i dont know how often he plays at home. He spends alot of his time on the computer (so computer related activtys are cool).. Hmm.. I dont know- He doesnt have many hobbies.. or any that i can tell thus far... I really dont know much of what hes into- He loves music- But thats not very good for boredom... because its basically what he does everyday (sits on the ocmp and listens to music) So any new ideas for hobbies are cool (keep in mind hes a guy- i doubt hed try knitting or anything ;P!)

I dont know- Just maybe post some ideas of things you do when your bored! Or Any suggestions for hobbie like things he could try! Im stumped for what else to add but i know he will liek this gift if i get it all done!!!

What about adding places to go to your list.  For my city, I might list a cool park that has historical significance, various museums, world's largest ball of string-type stuff, festivals that are coming up, etc.  Added bonus - the two of you can do them together.

hawkeyes_girl- Hmm... i just might have to try that! But what kind of crafts might a boy be interested in? Maybe ill make him a kit on learning how to hand sew making the project liek a nintendo controller- he might go for that Tongue

Marmish- Hmm.. I wonder if we have anything like that o_O! Lol- Ill look into it, that be fun ^_^

any other ideas appriciated! Also can anyone give me ideas on "manlier" crafts? Or crafty ideas? It be easier to con him into sewing if we didnt make skirts! lol!

What about hemp/leather necklaces, stenciling tees, melting beads (ala Kappy, he's crazy talented at this and a boy), decoupaging and scrapbooking, etching glass, knitting skater caps, making things out of felt (cozies, etc.).

There are a lot of "manly crafts" or stuff you can make for men.
Hope this helps.

my boyfriend is a gamer and i will tell you from experience...the thing he loves best is when i play his games WITH him...over the years i have gotten really good at Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat etc...whenever i feel like being nice, we have a game day...i buy a bunch of his favorite snacks and soda and we just play games all day long... board games, card games, computer games, video games...with all the snacking we usually end the day with DDR Smiley

why not try a basket full of goodies? maybe some movies too...

Hey, I answered this on LJ, too! lol
You want "manlier sewing"? Try leatherworking. Not quite sewing, but almost, at times at least.
By the way, ever considered joining something like the SCA? Loads of options within the organization, both for outings and for learning stuff.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.
