That orange is beautiful, and it looks great on.
Plus, it's perfect for fall, especially with the skirt!

OMG! I have that skirt and it's been so hard to find something that matches it. Go you for knitting your own! I love the sweater, the little sleeves are just darling.

i finally got my yarn and ordered the pattern!!!

i cast on last night.  my mission here is to make the sweater for myself, and if everything goes well i'm going to make one for my grandmother for her birthday/christmas.

i know it's not exactly grandmother-appropriate, but i plan on taking the poof out of the sleeves, make the sleeves a little longer, and make sure that it's not too snug on her.  she really loves short sleeved sweaters, so i think this is perfect for her.  she also admired another sweater i was making with a similar lace leaf pattern, so i think that makes it even better.

for me, i'm using cotton fleece in plum patina, and for my grandmother's i'm using silver plum.  they're both so pretty!!

ok, i'm off to start knitting again!

by the way, everyone has done such a great job on their rusted roots so far!

Lol, I got it for really cheap at Kohl's over the summer.  I was having trouble finding something to wear with it and then I came across that orange yarn.  It's not the best quality yarn (Red Heart Soft Yarn) but it matches well and was only 2 bucks a skein!  So now I have a cute cheap sweater to go with my cute cheap skirt!

i'm using alphine lilac. Smiley

It is nice to knit with but I discovered that it is a bit too thick for my country's climate

hi - craftster newbie here - i've just started rusted root - or jaded root as another knitter said since i'm doing it in oriental jade cotton fleece - i just wanted to post and see if anyone is still knitting the sweater... i love seeing finished projects and hearing about people's progress.  i am hoping to finish this for my sister for christmas - but i'm a grad student and this is my first "sweater" - so far i've only done scarves and felted bags.  but so far its good, the lace looks good and i really like the yarn!

let me know if anyone's still knitting rusted root along with me!
