I love, love, love the purse.  Do you have any hints on sewing a lining into a handknit/or crocheted piece?  I have made a few bags but never dared take them anywhere near my sewing machine.

It is suprisingly easy (this was my first one).
All you do is sew (on a machine) the lining of your choice into the shape of your puse,
and after hemming it on the top, hand stitch it into your piece along the top.

The purse looks pretty similar to the Sophie purse on magknits  I imagine you could take that pattern and just make it smaller - and do the whole thing in seed stitch.

It does look similar!
Actually, you would make it bigger in all wool and then throw it into the wash to felt.
Seed stitch would work just fine.
It is crocheted, but whateva'.
