Oh, it turned out so perfectly pearish!  I think I may have to do a pattern down the line.  It's stuffed with wood shavings, to keep the pins sharp and so they won't sink in too easily.  The leaf is for holding needles.  In fact, I think I'm going to make a couple more pear pincushions tomorrow for a birthday giveaway at the end of the week -- maybe I'll host a clean joke contest to choose the winner -- Hmmm. 

And I made this tape measure to go with it -- too cute!
