This is my first post ever.  *eep* And it's of of the first stuffed thingy I ever made. Not spectacular, but I liked making them.

I made 2 of these little snowman ornaments. One I sent away for a swap and the other I gave to my boyfriend's family for Christmas. I guess I did pretty well since my boyfriend's Mom hadn't realized it was handmade until I told her how annoying it was trying to sew the arms in. I got the pattern from a book of my Mom's. Can't remember the title right now. It was really easy, but I handsewed everything so it took a long time. Body is made out of natural colored muslin. Heart is made out of some random piece of red cotton stuff Mom had lying around. Wood button was a lucky find in Mom's button box. Scarf is a strip of flannel cut from the cuff of one of my Grandpa's old shirts. Twigs arms were found outside. Eyes and mouth are french knots using regular old thread. Carrot nose is satin stitch in shiny orange sewing thread. Didn't have embroidery floss. The loop to hang him is made of jute and is carefully sewn onto the back of his head.

Hope the images show up alright and aren't too ginormous. If they don't work, please let me know and I'll post links to the pics instead.

Assembly required.

Finished.

For scale... sorta. My dog, Jack, only weighs 12 pounds and is about 19 inches from nose to rump. He wouldn't sit still long enough to find out how tall he is.

For fun. One of my Mom's cats, Tiger, trying to nap with it.

So there it is! Hope you like it. I'll find the book I got the pattern from and post that info later.

Really cute! I don't think I would have the patience to make these so I salute your skills! How did you get the arms to stay? Did you have to glue them into the seam?

"just keep crafting, just keep crafting"

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

Very cute!  I love the cat napping with it.  Cat's are always trying t mess with your crafts!  Mine likes to lay on the fabric I just laid out flat on the ground to cut... course it's my fault for putting it where she wanted to lay down.
