I have a Ripple going that I plan to donate to charity...I'm not too far into it now but hope to get a jump start after the holidays.

This is one of my ripples. This was my second one that I ever did. I learned how to do one from an older lady. Then I learned how to do them by counting eithier 10's,8's'9's and so on. Now I just make them with short hills or long ones. It depends on the mood.

PS Helpful ending. When changing to the next color. Before you cut, Try working that color in with the Changed color for a couple of stitches. This will save time at the very ending and you won't have to weave as much at the finishing. This works and the project last a very long time without coming apart.

How I wish I had paid more attention when my Mom was doing this exact ZigZag pattern years ago.  *sigh*  Now that she's gone, I don't have her to teach me and I so regret not learning from her while she was here.

Thanks for sharing....it brought back some wonderful memories for me.

Oh, and great work!!! Cheesy

I used the same pattern as her...I had PMed her and asked where she had gotten it a few months ago.   It came from Crochet Basics by Jan Eaton.  I went to Barnes and Noble and wrote it down but I lost it now so that's the best I can help.  :-)

Here's how mine turned out....it was for a friend deployed in Iraq.  She picked out the colors and her boyfriend told me to make it asymetric thus the weird sized stripes.

I was making a ripple scarf for myself but I decided I am not crazy about it, so now I am just going to to make it into a ripple blanket for my little brother.  Except now I have to decide If I wan to take it all out and start with a bigger hook.  I don't know if it will be worth it.  I think I am going to try the pattern with the bigger hook on some of the same yarn and decide if it is worth frogging everything.  Mikey better appreciate this.
