I hadn't really planned on entering this challenge, but when I saw everyone's tiny creations, I just couldn't resist.  Etch - A - Sketch was always a favorite toy of mine.  My mother broke mine when I was a wee girl and I don't think I've ever gotten over it. Wink

So here is the finished object.

It is made from craft foam and duct tape (a very smooth type)  I cut much of it with nail clippers, since my scissors were hard to handle on such a small item

And here I've etched a sketch, but its difficult to get a good pic.  The drawing wasn't that great anyway.  I guess I'll have to shake it and start over!!

Really cute, and what an unusual thing to choose!

Saw a wonderful little Dilbert cartoon once where the Office Technical Guys are with the BIG BOSS, whose laptop has crashed "Now remember, when it crashes, you hold it over your head and shake it from side to side"   Next frame, out in the corridor:  "How long do you think it will be before he realises we gave him an Etch-a-Sketch instead of a laptop?"

Can't see one now without thinking of that joke!

That's a really awesome idea!   Does the foam come in different thicknesses?  I'm thinking if I used one a little thinner than you did I could make one of these in 1/12 scale.  It'd be great for my dollhouse!  Eeeee!

Its just regular craft foam.  I think you can get it thicker, but not thinner.  Its about 2 or 3 mm thick I guess.

Hee, hee.  No  it doesn't really work.  I just drew a picture onto the duct tape.  That would be rather amazing though.  I have seen some real itty bitty etch a sketch key chains that worked however.
