I wore this to a dance themed "Stars Through the Ages" and it is designed to look like Columbia from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. My friend, Greige dressed as Frankenfurter and my friend Sami dressed as Magenta. It was so much fun.

Sorry for the one picture, I just didn't feel up for photography that night, I suppose.  Tongue

I've been meaning to make a Columbia costume to wear to RHPS for a while now.  There's always a showing at Halloween, so maybe I'll make one for that!

Agreed!  And after being in a Rocky Horror group for a few years, I've seen a lot of them.  Great job!

If it lives in the water or flies in the air, I'm in love with it. In New Zealand I saw a flying fish and almost wet myself.

How did you make the top?  Did you sew the sequens on to a tank top or make the tank top out of the sequened fabric?  Did  you make a jacket and top hat too?  If so, can you post the pics?

Haha, so I guess this is almost a request for a tut....

Well Actually,

I had a slimfitting black tanktop and I bought about 3 or 4 packages of sequins and I covered a section of the tank with hotglue and then quickly coated with the sequins, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat...(I'm sure you could sew them, but I was only wanting this for one night)
For the shorts, I just bought some higher-waisted, short black shorts and I added ribbons going up it.
I also made a hat, I had a plastic tophat from Partyland that said "Happy New Year" I ripped the banner off and covered the hat in Elmers clear school glue gel. Then I saturated the hat with a very large container of gold glitter.
I also wore this costume with blackfish nets, high heels, and ankle light blue cuffed socks.
