Swap name: Admit Your Favorite Guilty Pleasure Movie Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: sandylin
Sign-up date range: 8/7 – 8/17
Date to send items by: 9/18

Limited to a certain number of people? no

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO

All ages allowed, but make sure if you're under 18 you get parental consent

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: NO
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed at least one swap successfully before signing up for more: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

Details of swap:  I'm sure we all have a favorite movie that we're a little embarrassed to admit to. You know, like when you're flipping the channels and Mystic Pizza is on, and you just can't turn away even though you've seen it 5000 times? But it never makes it on any official list of your favorite movies, and sometimes you’d even try to deny liking it if asked.

So, whether you secretly love Howard the Duck, Beastmaster or One Crazy Summer, come out and admit your favorite GP movie to your swap partner, who can then craft you something inspired by that film so you can show it off with pride.

Yes, you can list more than one movie if you wish. Just answer all the questions for each movie, and then your partner can choose which one they want to work with.

Let’s do one large item and two smaller items.

Also, be supportive. The best thing about guilty pleasure movies is that they are often enjoyed because they’re bad. We’re not here to judge, we’re here to craft!

Here's the link to the original thread for inspiration:

You know, I thought the same thing, but I figure that there is always someone who thinks a movie is silly---no matter how many people like it!

I submitted Lara Croft Tomb Raider.  I love that movie, but I know, even when watching it, that it really has some awful dialogue.  Hey--Center Stage was a very cute movie!  I may need to watch that again soon (I'm sure my husband will love that!)

I'm in! But can't decide between Newsies and Cry-Baby! Oh dear.

Newsies: http://imdb.com/title/tt0104990/
Cry-Baby: http://imdb.com/title/tt0099329/

Both fabulous.  Both slightly shameful in polite company.

Heeeeeeeey changed my mind--going with Shaun of the Dead.  Hurray! This is a total guilty pleasure since I normally can't even touch horror movies with a ten-foot pole, but since this one is funny, I get sucked in and can't ever leave!  Whee!

I've done the same things---I watched the movie right away, but I think I'm going to watch it again--just to be sure I didn't miss anything.  I had a heck of a time finding exactly what I wanted at the craft store (I went to 3 the other day), but I got as close as I could to what I wanted.  It's difficult when you have something so specific in mind, but it doesn't appear to exist!   Cheesy

I've been having some DVD player trouble, but I finally got that straightened out.  I have seen my partner's movie once before, but not closely, so I am hoping to spend some time watching/crafting this weekend.

I'm currently resisting the urge to craft instead of do homework.  Boooooo college.  But I just got the bits for my last project, and so it should be in the mail shortly! After, of course, I finish my statistics homework.

Main project is going frustratingly slow... Fortunately have had other ideas for side projects. Actually maybe that is why the main one is going so slow.

Just sent to Nelly! I super hope she likes everything. Her guilty pleasure movie was Serendipity, a fluffy romantic comedy starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. It was adorable and surprisingly funny. I highly recommend it, it's one of those "feel-good" movies--or do I mean "pick-me-up"? Maybe both.
