Share your Mess...Then let's clean it up!

So I've been inspired by Bubba*Tink's Craft-room redo...And I think it's time we ALL get together and do it. What do you think? Shall we share our woes and our joys? I KNOW there's something lurking under all those drifts of stuff....Mr.Khantas tic is getting upset because my crafts are drifting into other rooms, and forming piles there....

To prove that I'm serious, and Need HELP....

The only problem with Craft Room organizing is that I have to stop making stuff to do it.

Which is why, every now and again, the Other Human and I have the following conversation:

he: "Your room's a MESS!"
me: "Yep."
he: ... "Well, as long as you know."

man I am jealous of all the space & those shelves look like something I need to try.

I am using an old computer desk for my sewing machine so that table makes me wanna drool too...

& I feel your pain on the organization.  If only we could quit our jobs & devote ourselves to crafting....dreams.

ok, i cant believe i'm about to show everyone my horrible mess.....  My workspace is an open area loft type space when you come up our stairs. My space is about 12 feet long by 6 feet across, i cant seem to find a layout i like.



here is my pathetic attempt at organization



i have my desks set up in an L shape and this is a picture of the top of the desk that i use for cutting, it has my olfa mat and cutters, and that is supposed to be it! But as you can see it has everything, in fact, if you look at my blog entry i wrote today you can see my quilt book open to the pattern i was working on, and you can see some of the fabrics i was using, along with everything else i've been working on for the past couple of weeks  i'm embarassed

Bubba*Tink (along with other things) definitely inspired me!  In fact I've already started the sorting, cleaning, organizing. I'll have to look and see if I've got any "before" pictures.  I normally try really hard to keep it OUT of my pictures.  And since I've already started th process, it wouldn't be a TRUE repersentation if I should you what it's like right now

And yes, I know I'm fortunate to have so much space. I have the room over the garage, and my brother gets the basement. I used to have a queen sized bed in the middle of the room , but I decided to go to s a smaller bed so it would fit in the corner and I'd have more space to be crafty.

I don't get a craft room.  I have a craft closet and a drafting table:

I keep those giant tins people get at Christmas that are full of popcorn, and once the popcorn is eaten, I stuff 'em full of fabric.  That big box is full of clothes to reconstruct.

Drafting table.  Really useful in its current state, eh?

Where I store my fabric.  I can't buy anymore because the drawers are stuffed!
