"Conversation Piece", feedback requested

I sketched out the plan for this painting in 1995, in my college speech class.

It got painted in 1998, and was left with my parents when I moved 'cross the country.  It was my first piece of art on canvas.  Keep in mind, I am completely self-taught.

I just got it back and want some feedback.  I know I don't create for others (well, unless I am doing a commission, of course) but I have had varying opinions on it.
It is 36" (3 feet) square, acrylics on canvas.


Soccer ball is for perspective of the size...the only universal thing I had sitting in my yard (where light is best at the moment)

-What is your impression...what adjective comes to mind?
-How much do you think it should sell for (in a gallery)
-If you like it for your house, how much would YOU pay for it?
(I am not seeking someone to buy it, just some neutral feedback from other artsy peers)

My skill level has improved over the past 3 years since I have begun painting (like a mad-woman) but I want to know about your impression of the design.

I would love opinions, criticism, whatever....Just HONESTY!!!!

My honest opinion is that I think it is incredible..I love unique and this is ..

Unique, inteesting, tropical, contemporary,

That would depend so much on where the gallery is located...I have some things in George Ohr museum shop that brings quite a bit but the same type of things, in a small shop only bring about half...The amount asked or offered is determined by many factors, including the subject matter of the painting, personal interests of both the seller and the purchaser, and trends in the market


-If you like it for your house, how much would YOU pay for it?

Again, I can only give you my humble opinon...I don't pay more than $100 for an artist who is not established yet if I am thinking about buying it as an investment....other wise it is Katy bare the door,,,if I want it..

lol yeah it was kind of a small picture, but these do it better justice!  i love the use of colors....i really really love it.  i couldn't tell you about the prices..bc i'm really bad with that kind of stuff...but it deserves a good one.

I LOVE this piece!!!

It's bright, cheerful and makes me smile. The empty though bubble is a sort of "insert your own word/phrase" to me. meaning that on different days and different moods, it would say something different in my mind.  I dunno, perhaps I'm just rambling now.

I'm no good at art prices, but for me personally, I'd be willing to pay more than $50 but not more than $75 for it. But remember I'm a BROKE college student, who lives off of $0.15 ramen noodles.  $50 is 6 months worth of ramen.

I dig it.  The eyeball reflection is stunning, and the contrast really brings the piece to life.  great work!
