Named after a certain Mr Batty that I go to college with, I give you Ed the beaded bat Smiley

He's made of size 8/os, wire, nymo and drops, completely 3D and a bit under 2 inches. Shown here with a 2p for comparison

A selection of 'making of' pictures (I've posted a tute in the Beads section):

and ta da!

Thank you for looking Smiley

Those wings are the best!  I would like to have them by themselves for a pin.

thanks guys Smiley

I was thinking I'd maybe make the wings into a necklace or something, because they came out quite cool - I didn't like them at first but they are growing on me!

Thank you for all your kind words and support Smiley

That is so cute!  The way the beads go almost make him look woven, which I think is really cool   Smiley  I especially love the wings - they're very pretty.

Look at me, I'm on TV, it makes up for the shortcomings of being poor. Now I'm in a million pieces picked up for deliberation by the people listening at home, by the people watching on the telly...

haha, at first my brain read this as "Ed the beaded hat".  I thought "why would you name a beaded hat Ed?  That's kind of strange..."  A beaded bat is so much better!  I'm a big fan of bats.  They are awesome animals!
