I love how this turned out.  Sweet by not sickingly so.

I really like it!  Did you knit different sized squares and then sew them together?  I love the contrast of the different stitch patterns.  Great job!

Yup, I knitted up the squares and then crotcheted them together.  I based the blanket on a free pattern from Lionbrand - the Aryan Knit Sampler Afghan http://cache.lionbrand.com/content-knittingPatternIndex.html#home.  I made less squares so it would be baby sized and changed up some of the cable patterns.
