These are two of my newest bags. (No patterns used; I just made them up.) Here's my tree bag; I love it. (I've posted a smaller purse with swirly tree embroidery before in case it looks familiar.) It has lots of practical pockets:

I also wanted a smaller messenger bag so I made this one (just finished last night). I didn't know what to embroider on the flap but someone near & dear suggested I zoom in on the birds around the tree on the previous bag which I thought was a really cool idea, like a macro pic of part of the tree bag.

It is lined with fabric from a scarf which I cut in two pieces length-wise (it was really wide), so I'm going to hem it and have a matching scarf and bag... Cheesy

With all my stuff inside:

Close up of the embroidery:

And the obligatory action shot:

Both bags together:

Hope ya like!  Cheesy

I am an apologist for the spiders.

Just treat me no differently than you would the Tarantula Queen.

I'm just getting back into this, but if any pictures are missing, let me know. Photobucket hates me.

Those are really pretty! You did a very professional job. Smiley Did they take long to embroider? I love embroidery and have always wanted to do it. I just have no idea where to start. Are there certain stiches or can you just wing it?

Thanks Smiley

Nelly: No, they didn't take long to embroider. I had a pretty clear image in my head of what I wanted to do and added things as I went along. I don't know much about stitches; I just do whatever I feel like and try things out to vary the texture.
