A sweet little sampler stitched on 52-count linen.  The design area is 18mm x 20mm.

The sampler is stitched with Milkpaint silks and the outline is silk couched with Japan thread.  It's mounted on balsa wood.

Then I made a tiny box from balsa wood and used the mounted sampler as the lid.

Here's a peek inside the little box.  With the lid on it is about a 1" cube.  Perfect for a tiny treasure.

Side view of the box without the lid on.

Hope you enjoy this wee little trinket box and its stitched lid. Smiley

That's one wee box!  Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is the height of each letter approximately 0.25 mm?!?  Nice work!

Your decimal needs to be scooted to the right once: each letter is approximately 2.5mm high.

Thanks Smiley

Fidget, there just doesn't seem to be any limit to how small and detailed and original and beautiful your creations can be!  I am reminded of a "funny" from years back about the little bird that flew in smaller and smaller concentric circles until he flew up his own behind!  lol   Seriously, though, your talent and creativity is a joy to all of us.  You done good.

I am CRAZY for tiny crafts.  With this many stunningly perfect little things, I can't figure out which crafter to chase down and swap with/buy from first!!  (Let alone, figuring out which to vote for!)

As someone who does a lot of cross-stitching herself, I am really impressed. I don't think I could go so super tiny like that. Good work.  Smiley

Thanks, everybody. Smiley  I really appreciate the nice comments.

Novastarlet, I usually do cross stitch but this linen was so fine that unless I split the silk there's no way I'd be able to do that without distorting the fabric.  So, I did tent/continental/half cross stitch - pick a name, they're all the same. Smiley
