Hi all!  I just stumbled across this site a couple of days ago.  Y'all have great ideas!  I need your help:  Does anyone out there have a tutorial on how to make Skittles purses and wallets?  Are they basically the same as the Capri Sun bags/wallets?  I have a lady who buys purses from me request one and I have no idea how to make it?!  There is a duct tape Skittles purse on here but that's not what she's looking for.  If I could just see a picture of it I can make it.  Any suggestions?  I've looked elsewhere on this site and didn't come across anything...could've missed it, tho.  Any help is greatly appreciated!!!  Thank you!!

It probably would be similar...get some clear vinyl, and sandwich the skittles wrappers between two layers...you might want to glue two skittles wrappers back to back so that the Skittles logo is outward on both sides... I think you would just sew thru the edges of the wrappers, to attatch them to the vinyl and make sure the whole thing doesn't move around.
Then take your big sheet of skittles wrapper sewn vinyl, figure out what panels you need to make the purse, and cut each one out. Sew it together like you would fabric...add a handle, and maybe even line it with something.
Seems like it would work. Having never made one of them before though, I am not sure.
Good Luck!

Hmm..that tutorial says to use clear duct tape... I think I'd use the clear iron on vinyl, personally, because it would be a lot easier to deal with.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the tips!  I think I will try the clear vinyl and see how it works.  If all goes well...I'll post some pix!

I don't have a picture of it, but I know what you are taking about.   It's made by sewing skittles bags together so you have a big piece of  skittles "fabric" and then just make the bag as usual.  When you are creating the "fabric", put wrong side to right side together, not right side to right side as when you are sewing a garment.  Basically, you just lay the skittles bags out as you want it to look, with a big of overlap, and you sew the overlap.
