Here he is!  My ITSY BITSY SPIDER.

These spiders were inspired by a lampshade I saw in the Bombay Company Store.
These didn't cost anything.  I just used what I had in my stash.  They are fun to make.

I REALLY like them! Great job!

However.....I am NOT please about having that song stuck in my head now! UGH

The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout...
Down came the rain and washed the spider out...

Bit of trivia for you....in some part of the US (New England I know for sure) this song is the Eancy Weancy spider.  In the south he's an Itsy Bitsy spider and in the DEEP south he's an itty bitty spider! I'm not making this up! You learn the some of the strangest bits of trivia teaching four-year-olds for 5 years!

Up came the sun and dried up all the rain....

 Cool

I've got knitting needles, and I'm not afraid to use them.

It's Eancy Weancy in Canada too...at least the area where I'm from.  Interesting.  Who knew...

By the way I just love this.  I've actually bought several something like these from a vendor at Byward Market in Ottawa.  She told me to hang them on my screen doors and they'll keep the flies away.  So they are beautiful and functional.

You don't have to get it right the first time, just the last time.

I am an apologist for the spiders.

Just treat me no differently than you would the Tarantula Queen.

I'm from Oregon, and it's Itsy Bitsy here!  But strangely, the song that got stuck in my head when I saw the pictures was NOT 'The Itsy Bitsy Spider' but 'My Crystal Spider' by Sweetwater.

Have you seen my crystal spider
He has eyes of mercury
He has left his web of paisley
Be aware
If you care
Would you please
Send him back to me...

ooh, those are cute! I've made much the same thing a couple years ago (different beads, same basic idea - I used both bugle and seed beads for the legs, that's the only 'major' difference.) If this wasn't a craft challenge I'd post a couple pics of my versions, too. Grin
These also used to be a family tradition for my husband's family - they'd make loads of them (in white/clear beads) for christmas, sell them as "christmas spiders" with a little photocopy of the german legend and give the proceeds to a cystic fibrosis charity, as his sister had CF. (you can google up several different versions of the "christmas spider" story if you care to - but it boils down to the the heavy webbing curious spiders left on a christmas tree being transformed into tinsel). I haven't looked at mine in ages, now I'm itching to do more!
(oh, and it's always been "itsy bitsy" to me, I'm from North Bay Ontario, originally - mom's from Hearst. Yay for tracking regional variants of kid's rhymes/stories!)
