Did you see the latest WENDY'S commercial
It uses A MINI BURGER, FRIES AND DRINK just like yours!
I can't find the commercial online, but basically one guy is eating a mini burger, fries and drink and says to the guy beside him eating a regular Wendy's combo, "All of this was $2.99". The guy beside him goes, "All of this was $2.99 too." or something.
Veeeeerrrry iiinteresting.

i immediately thought of this too. it seems that craftster's ideas are stolen by everyone!
seriously, doesn't anyone ever feel like these boards are being watched by some person that is too lazy to come up with their own original ideas?

Looks like we all got the same idea when we saw the commercial.
Some "hipster" advertising guy is cruising the internet looking for good ideas to steal. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

i saw an interesting thing on PBS about people in advertising. . . .this analyst basically said that the influx of super clever and arty commercials and print ads that we have seen in the last two decades has risen out of the fact that most people involved in advertising don't really WANT to be in advertising, they secretly (or not so secretly) despise their line of work. . . and making those types of commercials is part of their desire to do something art-worthy in even the most remote way.
i suppose this might be one more aspect of that. capitalizing on what consumers like in the art/craft world while trying to legitimize themselves as artists.
i don't know, just a thought.

I saw a special about advertising like that a looonnnggg time ago...maybe it's the same one? They call all the buyers (mostly 13 to 24 year olds) mooks (sp?) and bare midriffs. I KNOW they are cruising the internet and doing that. I think one has to just take it as the sincerest form of flattery. They can't take your talent away. You're truly an amazing photographer!!! They just don't look the same in their commercial.

I am SO glad I'm not the only person who saw that commercial and was like, wait a minute, WTF! It made me angry at first but I guess you could be right kikigirl in that it is a form of flattery except the original artist doesn't get the mega check the ad agency does. And you're 100% correct that it doesn't look nearly as appetizing on the commercial as it does in this post!!
