NOTE- I will have a co-organizer for this swap. Please PM both of us with all questions and info. From August 4-14th RubyTuesday will be in charge of the approvals, so wait for a response from her before you post your list.

Swap name:  Ongoing Wist swap for August
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: Bobolink
Sign-up date range: The end of August 7/31/06
Date to send item by: Must send out item within 2 weeks of picking a partner
Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): Nope... the more the merrier
Non-U.S. participants allowed? Of course!
All ages allowed? Or 18+?  Yes, just make sure its ok with the parents
Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that
every participant meets these conditions: YES
All swappers MUST be pre-approved for this swap!

YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE UNLESS YOU PM AND Co-organizer RubyTuesday AND one of us ADDs YOU TO THE LIST!

DETAILS:
This is swap is similar to The 2006 Wishlist March Swap PLEASE read all
the details before you join. This is a Wist Swap so in order to participate you
need to create one at Wists.com. This swap is for fellow craftsters to make
stuff you love but can not make yourself.

TO START :
You will look at the Wists of the people who have already
been approved

THEN:
Once you have chosen someone you must send me and RubyTuesday a message
telling me who pick and what you will be making them.  When i receive your
message, you must wait for my response letting you know it is ok to
post your link and a little blurb about you, make sure to include the country
you live in for those who do not want to ship out side of their own. Only
approved swappers can post a Wist link. This swap is no longer secret, although you can keep what you are sending a suprise if you wish. Feel free to contact your partner directly with questions and for their address- re the format of wish swaps.

Last but not Least:
You will then can start crafting the item Items must be sent out within
two weeks of selection

Now here are some other rules you need to follow
- to be able to post your link you have to craft for at least ONE person
- you must have AT LEAST 6 items on your Wist ..you can continue to add during the swap
- You can be picked as many times as you have items on your list
- if you get picked a SECOND TIME (note I changed this to keep the swap moving more and be more fair), you must pick another person to craft for if you would like to get picked again (you will be put on hold until you craft again)  I will let you know when you need to pick someone else if you want to receive more items.
NOTE- I am adding two changes to previous versions of this swap. You have to craft again after being picked twice not three times and I'm not going to keep the partners secret. That aspect seemed kind of pointless and unnecessarily complicated.

ALSO- it was pointed out in the gallery that this is a thread where we make things inspired by other people's designs. If you receive a version of something made by a different craftster, make sure you credit the original craftster too when you post in the gallery. Provide a link to their post or website or etsy shop- of course this goes for very unique things and not say a Panta.

If you have any question feel free to pm me

Remember, to post your link, you must craft for one person

PLEASE PM THE ORGANIZER WITH THE FOLLOWING
INFORMATION IF YOU WISH TO PARTICIPATE:

Name of swap: Ongoing Wist Swap for June
Craftster username:
Email address:
Your real name and mailing address:
Who you will be sending to:
What you will be sending:

The first lists will be people who didn't get picked last round. I haven't PMed them yet, cause I wanted my co-organizer to post the second post so she could have a list on the first page. I hope you don't mind, but once she posts I'll probably delete these two. By tomorrow at least there should be some wists posted to start from.

My dress sense is probably best described as quirky and I dont like to follow trends. I have lots of clothes that fall into both rock and hippy categories! I tend to be drawn to chunky, bold accessories and Im a born hoarder. Ive drawers full of clothes and old jewellery to re-doone dayI love recon clothes but I never seem to get around to them. I really dont get along with pastels, or pinks unless theyre dark or dusky, but I like everything else. I like trees, leaves, the sea, shells, feathers, birds, especially chickens, ravens and crows. Oh, and one look at my wist will tell you I like all kinds of bugs as well!

I'm in California
http://www.wists.com/Bobolink

About me: 28  year old grad student who spends way too much time on craftster at my desk, instead of where I should be- at my bench doing experiments. I love all animals and animal motifs. Owls and all birds, forest animals, cats etc.. Right now I'm really into sea otters and California quail. I'm just starting to be serious about going to the climbing gym and I love it. I love nature and sea themed stuff and city / artsy stuff too. I love all colors, bright ones over pastels, but earthy ones are great too especially for a nature theme. I also prefer off colors to primaries- ie turquiose over navy blue. I love any old, vintage, retro and mod looking stuff and patterns- but I really like modern stuff too. I love old vintagy stuff like adds ie- fruit crate labels and pin ups. I love when prissy crafts are mixes with racy stuff ie an embroidered pin up- I think that really represents what us awesome craftsters are up to. I also love food stuff, sushi, meat, sweet stuff etc.. probably cause I love food! And I love japanese and mexicana stuff.

I'm in England. Anyone who chooses me, thanks loads!

http://www.wists.com/simplyfussfree

About me: I live in Los Angeles but will be living in England for the next month and a half with my boyfriend. My name is Jana, I just turned 26 years old in late May. I like green <3 ( foresty/avacado-y ), and browns. I'm obsessed with travelling and with Romania, Russia, and Poland. I like Victorian looking things, forest themed things, Hansel and Gretal, things with trees on them, birds, ferns, bikes, and nesting dolls. I don't like: metallics, fun fur, yarn with a sheen ( like simplysoft ), when people clip their nails around me, and when people clap at the end of movies.

Hi! I live in Italy. I'm a wife with no kids and two dogs, I work in a baby playground, and I have a lot of fun crafting with kids!

Colors you like are purple, salmon and lightcoral pink, firebrick,  aubergine, mustard yellow, aquamarine, turquoise, teal, chartreuse green, rosybrown and indianred. Also olive green, mohagany, wines.

Designs in particular I like natural - that is, designs from nature - I love dragonflies! Also mermaids, butterflies and flowers, corals, lotus flower. Japanese motifs, skulls and flowers, mexicana images, frida style. I also love ethnic stuff, fabric and motifs, I like sari fabric and Hindu jewellery, chandelier earrings...
I'm bohemian, I like to mix different style together, I like crochet and felted stuff, loopy necklace, earrings and chunky glass beads bracelets, jeans, stencilled and decorated tees, and colorfull bags! I do wear lot of used and second hand clothes, I'd love some recon clothes to add to my wordrobe!

My hobbies are (besides crafting of course) yoga, pets, reading, surfing the web, go shopping for thrift stores and markets, I love second hand stuff.

I collect mugs, tin boxes, especially Chinese and funky colored boxes, I collect anything related to dragonflies( jewellery, boxes, shirt, fabric, beads, stencil, paper,  pins... anything), bags and shoes, beads, jewellery cases, bug pins, mexican style crosses, and dias de los muertos stuff, fabrics.

Here's my wist:

I'm not really sure what else I should put here Smiley

hello! i am kristine, i'm in massachusetts. i have a wist list now too.

you can see it at www.wists.com/kmsmaverick

i like things that make me smile. I have a somewhat whimsical and not really matchy matchy sort of personality. it occurs to me these days that i am a hopeless romantic. but not a syrupy sweet sort of romantic. i like it when people are thoughtful of each other. I think the movie gosford park has the most romantic plot line. sigh. anyway, i like rock and roll. like the replacements, foo fighters, the clash, and weezer, to name a few.

i enjoy planning trips. imaginary vacations and itineraries for when i get there. sometimes i do, others i don't. i like to day dream and tell everyone about my fabulous holidays over and over again. i can't help it, they were such fun!  I love to pretend i'm a local, and try to immerse myself in the culture of the place i am visiting. tell me about your neighborhood!

I am a sport-o. not really a tomboy, but a true tee shirt and jeans kinda girl. i like cats, and cartoons, but not those like cat dog. or the fairly odd parents- have you ever watched that show? i can't believe we let kids watch it! i enjoy things that are interesting, and pleasant to look at, i'm not into shock value.

this is slightly shaggy dog now, but of course i am grateful to anyone who might want to make something for me.

oh! i'm so excited; i've been picked! someone's going to craft for me! thank you very much C.Deb!

Woo! Cheesy

My name is Noelle, I live in Maine (USA), and my wists are here: http://www.wists.com/subdefective

I'm 23 years old, living with my boyfriend, with a gaggle of pet rats. I'm a total geek; I love all things science fiction (Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate/Atlantis.. pretty much anything with star in the title Grin), video games (love the Legend of Zelda and FFIV), books (favorites are Harry Potter series and anything by Stephen King), etc. If it's geeky, I'm there. I'm a history major, and my favorite topic of study is World War II, after that, Ancient Rome. I'm trying to learn to play the guitar, but it's slow going. I'm basically a beginner at most crafts, as I've been more involved in straight-up art before I discovered the joy of crafting. One day I'd like to learn how to knit. I like neutral/earth tones, mostly; grays, dusty greens and pale yellow, etc. Overall, I tend to prefer things that are simplistic and understated, but I do have a sense of fun and like to be crazy once in a while. Smiley

Thanks in advance to anyone who crafts something for me! <3

hi! my name is Tasha and i am addicted to craftster swaps. what can i say, everyone makes the prettiest things! let's see... i'm originally from Ohio, and on a whim, we picked up and moved to Hilton Head Island, SC just around our 3 month anniversary. we decided about 2 weeks before his lease was up and just went for it. so it turned out we didn't like it there, so after a year, we moved to Wilmington, NC, as i'm a HUGE Dawson's Creek fan, and a (kind of) aspiring actress, and this is the third largest film producing city in the United States, so i thought i'd give it a shot. i have two adorable kittens who are brothers who get into EVERYTHING. no territory is left untouched for them. i began knitting in november and i love it. i dabble in paper arts and embroidery as well, and hope to get a sewing machine soon!

Hi! I'm Johanna, and I live in Austin, TX with my hubby and ginormous standard poodle.  Even though it is hot here almost 9 months out of the year, I enjoy knitting and have a unruly love of yarn (which means I have a ton of it).  But it's so pretty!  I am teaching myself to crochet, but I'm not quite there yet.  All the amigurumi animals are so cute that I want to learn how to make one.  I would love to learn how to stencil.  I seem to get stumped at making the stencil ... which part do i cut?

I like birds, bees, jellyfish, squid, robots, squirrels, owls, octopi, simple flowers, bunnies, deer, poodles, dachshunds, food with faces (like fruit and veggies or a wedge of cheese), trees, and a whole heck of a lot of other things.  My favorite colors are green, dark brown, pink, but I wear mostly black or white t-shirts with jeans.  I like natural fibers and fabrics.  I don't think there's such a thing as too many purses, too many shoes and too much chocolate.  I favor food and citrus scents, such as coffee, chocolate, ginger, lime, coconut, grapefruit.  I love going to farmers' markets.  Lately I have been really into Thievery Corporation, Aimee Mann, The Shins, The Cure, Iron & Wine, Band of Bees, Johnny Cash, and Air, but I like all kinds of music.

Here's my wist: http://www.wists.com/jesintexas

Thanks to anyone who chooses to craft for me!

hi!!! my name is starla. i live in nyc. i'm married with a cat, a dog (my puggy!) and a sugar glider.
i'm addicted to crafting and learning new crafts! i first started with quilting. moved on to atc's. right now i'm trying to teach myself embroidery and needle felting. i still want to learn to crochet. i love temari so i would really like to learn how to make them someday.
can't sew a bag or clothing to save my life unfortunately so i just have to admire everyone else's skills when it comes to that.
i love pretty much all colors.i suppose pastels would be towards the bottom of the list.....
i really love trees. i'm not sure how i started to like them so much but i just find them gorgeous! i love how their branches entertwine and i also love leaves.
i'm very easy going when it comes to people making things for me. as long as you take the time and you don't just throw something together, i'm a happy girl! i just appreciate the effort and the thought! and i really really love crafting for other people!
sooo, my wist is listed in my sig and yes it is quite large. i originally started it as a sort of "shopping list" for myself so i could remember things i've been wanting to get. it just grew from there.  Grin

hi! i'm sally, and i'm in edmonton, canada! i'm 26 years old and a wist addict, so i'm pretty psyched about this swap.

i like girly stuff, like lace and frills and pink and polka dots... but i'm not a girly person. i love anything retro, strong female role models and irony. ah, sweet irony.

also anything that looks like food. and my ears are not pierced.  Cry

if you choose me (ack, this is just like grade seven gym class all over again), please feel free to add your own creative touches to whatever you make, or to use my list as "inspiration" for something. i'll love anything you make!

Hello!

Finally I've finished my first swap, and I can pick from all the lovely swaps available! First, I picked this one, since I have managed to add quite a few wishes to my wists now.

I live in Sweden by the way and I am a teacher. I teach philosophy, psychology and ethics to 16-18 year-olds. It's a dream job!

Some things I like: greyscale, silver, blue, metal, computers, technology, logics, glass, black, the fifties, the sixties, modern art, geometrical shapes... but I like all sorts of styles so you really cannot go wrong.  Cheesy

What happens when August is over? Does this swap continue with another round?

It should just roll over into September. We sometimes get a new organizer but most everything stays the same. Smiley

You will get feedback once any packages you have mailed off are received.. and yeah, you do have to reapply - nobody is automatically signed up - a lot of us come and go in the ongoing swaps!

If you need a co-organizer I'd be more than happy to help, but I can't fully organize because I'm going to be in Vegas a good deal this month.

I'm sorry, but I still feel as too much of a newbie to take on organising a swap.  Sad

if you ladies can wait for one more week, i can organize. i just have a big freelance project i'm finishing for the 19th. after that i can start - so if somebody else wants to do it before then, please feel free, but if nothing's going on by then, i will take it on - because this is an awesomely fun swap.
