My bro put a shoe box on the wall. But it's the kind that opens but don't come off. It's like attached ya know so anyways...I thought it was cool cuz you can put stuff in it. Like figurines or trinkets or stuff on top if the box is just for looks. Or use a regular box and always keep the lid off. The brand was emerica i dunno what other brands have boxes like that. If you try that, tell me how it works out.

btw emerica is a skateboarding shoe brand so skating shoes usually have boxes like that...i have a few.

I onced hot glued dvd cases to my wall (with the long, thin end on the wall) as shelving units. They held candles.
