so I know this is probably the 80000 dino hoodie on here but I thought I'd share mine
it's very hard to get a good picture of your back so please excuse the crappy pics, haha
this is my first tutorial so I hope it come out clear enough. I didn't take pics while making it so I'll have to rely on diagrams i made on the paint program on my comp.
I bought the hoodie at Deb on sale for like $13. it was a great deal and i wish i had gotten more, but i already owed my mom money, so i only got one.
to make the spikes i folded the green fabric in half and used a straightedge to make a rectangle and divide the rectangle into triangles like so
cut out the triangles, make sure you cut through both layers of fabric. you also might want to pin the layers together so it doesn't slip and the fabric matches up right.
Next, with wrong sides of fabric together, sew two sides of the triangles together, the side you leave unsewed will be the base of the spike. turn spikes right side out.
Then grab your hoodie and start placing spikes. I started on the hood cause there was an easy seam for me to follow down the middle of the hood. I made the bases oval shaped so the spikes would stand up some and not flop over. pin and sew. I used my machine, but some of you might find it easier to sew by hand, whatever your preference.
once I got to the back of the hoodie the seam on the hood ran out so I didn't have a line to follow, so i just tried to place the next spike right behind the spike before it, trying to make it as straight as possible.
that's pretty much it, just sew spikes until you've reached the end of the back. once again i hope this was clear enough. if you have any questions feel free to PM me.
