Hi guys,
Do any of you know of any good fabric, yarn or thrift shops near Rutgers University or in the general New Brunswick area? I'm new down here, and have no idea where to shop for stuff!
Thanks a bunch.  Smiley

I live about 10-20 Minutes from you!  Aren't you excited! Sorry, I'm crazy.

Anyways, if you go south on Rt. 18 into the East Brunsiwck area (not far from you at all), first there is a Ragshop on the souhtbound side, then an A.C. Moore later on  on the Northbound side, then even further down on the southbound side is a goodwill.  The goodwill is in a little stripmall with a Jenny Craig, a Vitamin world, and a smoke shop.

I hope this helps!

Wow, thank you so much!
I had no idea Rt. 18 had pretty much... everything I need. Thank you so much for the help!  Smiley

And don't worry about the crazy - I'm quite insane myself. And yeah, I'm pretty excited to meet a neighbor!  Cheesy

That section of Route 18 is great, those two miles or so. Everything is there. ...I live in Old Bridge.

(If you're looking for real stores, too, and don't know where to go, even more south on 18 from where you are is the Brunswick Square Mall in East Brunswick and back behind there is a Target in Milltown, which is actually close to you if you go the back way. And 18 has an A&P and just everything. Don't worry about not being able to find stuff. If you have a car, which I assume you do, go out and drive around and you'll fid tons of things. Good luck in Rutgers!)

I live just over in the next town of Highland Park!

I only have on other thing to say.
There's a great little thrift store in one of the churches here in town.  Most of the stuff is ugly but the prices are very cheep.

Just go down Rt. 27 into Highland Park.  Make a right into the parking lot with the sign that has all the community events.  the thrift shop is right there.
(Inside the shop is a little fair trade store.)

There is a thrift shop a a couple houses/stores down from the Ronald McDonald House.  I don't remember what it is called though.
