Seriously I really do like it a lot, (had it throw in swell with all the 50's/kitchy talk) it looks like you quilted it!
Where did you find the wooden spools?  I'd like to experiment with some but have no idea where to find them.....

i have a box of random things from when my grandma moved!  i found the spool in there and went with it! 
i had seen the idea somewhere a long time ago...but i cant recall where....

Well, just received message from my partner that she received. I'm so happy after the worry of not getting a tracking #. Here's a pic of the pincushion bag that I made for her. It cinches up with the ribbon. I'm so happy she liked it.



the pink inner lining was embroidered on with individual pockets to hold small scissors, thread ets. The pup in the middle has a beaded collar. Her name was embroidered on the bottom, and there were also shrinky bone pins, poo pins, and a " mini me" pin. Okay, I won't bore you anymore; I was just so happy that my first swap went well...on both sides! I'm ready for another!

OK, so I won the swap lottery (LOL).  Shylitlegoddess also sent to me.  So, in all, I come away with 3 pincushions.  Crafty karma has clearly come my way  .  Anyhow, look at the superbly awesome pin cushions that she made for me...

1) because I love monkeys.  My daughter tried to take him as soon as she saw him.  He has magnets and a storage ear for needles.


2) because I love the human brain (I studied brainwaves of hyperactive kids for 5 years)- a wrist cushion with a Freudian (my hero) saying...
