I didn't get picked last month Sad

About Me
- My name's Beth
- I'm seventeen and I live in West Sussex, England

- I don't have pierced ears
- My wists wishlist is here: http://www.wists.com/teraspawn/wishlist
- Things I like quotes from: Firefly, Scrubs, Futurama, Pocoyo, Oscar Wilde, Discworld, PG. Wodehouse, The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy...
- Random things I like: cherries, pirates, polka-dots, octopi, geeky maths biology or music stuff, flowers, hippy things, roses, stripes, sweetie motifs.

- T-shirts stencilled with something cool and/or pretty
- An interesting wallet with somewhere for my coins and my cards
- Wristbands and bracelets (you can never have too many of those!)
- Handmade cosmetics and bath stuff; I'd especially love something that smells like bubblegum!
- Handmade paper or even better, a kit to make my own.

Greetings!  My name is Tala and I'm in Colorado.  My list is as follows:

1. DNA scarf: http://www.twosheep.com/helix is the pattern link.  I’d like it in either cream/off white or dark red.

2. Long shot: this bag , in this fabric.

3. The following Sublime Stitching pattern sets: Atomique, Under the Sea, Craftopia, Roller Derby and/or Monkey Love.

4.   A few sets of cool looking and relatively light weight hair sticks with wearing instructions, perhaps related to some of the interests/color schemes I’ve listed below this wishlist.  Dangly and sparkly things are love.

5.  A roll up knitting needle case (straights) or crochet hook case in a cool fabric.

6.  Soap in the following scents: lemongrass, pineapple and/or other tropical fruits (banana, mango, etc), apple, butterscotch, and/or vanilla.

7.  Some really nice blank book(s).  Hand bound is good (though not absolutely necessary- as a bookbinder myself, I know the effort that takes), unique papers and assortments of page papers even better.  The more pages the better.

8.  I’d love a scrimshaw tall ship pendant like this -and would it be possible to put text on the back, I’ve got something in mind for that too.

9.  An embroidered-and-appliqud tank or cami like this  and maybe a hint or two for embroidering on stretchy fabric.  Even with stabilizer, I can’t get it to look good.

10.  As many of the following knitting magazines as I can get: Rebecca 27, Rebecca 28, Rowan 37, Rowan 31, Rowan 34.

11.  A collection composed of any possible combinations of the following knick-knacks: skeleton keys, mah jong blocks, cool dominos, board game pieces, silver charms, glass beads and charms, bones, pirate/skull related trinkets, cloisonne fish charms, other cloisonne bits, tiger related trinkets, Micro Machines (the really little ones I had as a kid and can’t find anywhere now- less than 1” long), interesting and unique buttons, interesting and unique dice, circuit boards, cool dollhouse miniatures, compasses, and anything else little and fiddly and interesting.  I like to make weird jewelry out of interesting and unique fiddly bits. Also, cool papers and cuttings and stickers and ephemera for artjournaling would be loved.   I’ve been sent this one once, but I could always use more weird stuff- for journaling in particular this time around.

12. Fabric from my wist, or craft supplies. Or anything of my wist, really, but this is a craft-related swap sort of thing.

13. A simple full-to-queen-sized throw quilt in dark red and cream. Minimal padding, minimal complications- really, if you just sew two pieces of fabric together I’d love it.  I want something soft and classy I can use when my comforter is too warm.

14.  A Slytherin scarf a la http://knit.atypically.net/scarves/azkaban/pattern.shtml.  I prefer a knit tube to crochet or ribbing, for I wish it to be warm (wool/wool blends preferred) and look like a prop.  Because I’m a geek.  *is ashamed*

15.  A complete learn-to-needle-felt kit.  (Like this one.)

16. A cat pillow as seen here using this picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v143/ambathegreat/personal/floofy.jpg  If you’re really ambitious, I wouldn’t mind one of Mandy (who I lost this winter) too. High resolution photos available.  I also think a tiger or another animal would be cool.

17. Bracelet blanks for marble bracelets, a la http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=26346.0

18. Any/as many as possible of the patterns seen here.  PM for size/measurements if necessary.  (The knitting patterns –excluding kits- wouldn’t even require shipping; just knowledge of my e-mail address so they can be sent to me.)  I've received some already, to my everlasting joy (thank you, kinkyknit), but there's always more.

19. A screen-printing kit.  From what I know this might be prohibitively expensive, but hey, maybe someone out there has tired of the hobby and wants to get rid of their old tools or something, or maybe it can be done much cheaper than my inexperienced little brain knows.

20. White shrink-i-dink stuff and a stack of sharpies to color them.  The more colors of the latter the better. Thanks so much!

21. A neat fabric wallet.  Pockets for cards/IDs, change area and space for bills preferred.

22. A suprise!

About me:
My name is Tala and I’m a student at Colorado State University working towards a double major in Biology and Microbiology.  During the school year I’m an Organic Chemistry Stockroom Assistant, and during the summer I work at the Colorado Renaissance Festival.

Colors I like: red, purple, blue, black.  I’m particularly partial to red and white/cream or red and black.

Themes I like: pirates, history, science, ancient Egypt, dinosaurs, prehistoric megafauna, stars, argyle, stripes, retro pin-ups and propaganda posters (particularly WWII/Soviet propaganda), rockabilly, animals (Tiger and Binturong are favorites) all that is geeky and bookwormish, the Phoenix, Victoriana, SCUBA diving, and corsets.

I have a personal wist at www.wists.com/amba and some crafting wists at www.wists.com/corvusknitting www.wists.com/corvussewing and www.wists.com/corvuscrafts .  That’s not too relevant to the swap unless you want to get a better feel for my tastes, but if you get bored you might find some new crochet/knitting/sewing/crafty links.

Finally, you can get an idea of my tastes in fabric at www.wists.com/amba/fabric

Thanks so much!

During this month I will be Montana for a while, and then I am returning to Minnesota. If you pick me, Ill let you know where to send to. Thanks in advance!

Winter/ School Stuff (the biggest wishes)
* A shrug. I dont want anything in the front, pretty much just the sleeves. If you use wool, please use very soft wool as I have sensitive skin. I know this is a way more time consuming project, so if you do pick me for it, I will be willing to extend the two-week rule, and Ill let Whiskey know I okayed it. Here are two examples.
http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/index.html
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=99710.0

* Yoga socks. I want really basic yarn, nothing wool please.
http://cast-adrift2.blogspot.com/2006/01/yoga-socks-pattern.html
THANK YOU ONTHINICE!!!

* A fun but sturdy patchwork backpack. Just something simple with a main zipper compartment and a small front one. I just suck at zippers so damn bad! And I want to have a cool bag for the year.
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=107332.0

Craft Supplies
* Roving. I just started spinning and have no where to get roving until September. I would prefer roving dyed your special colors, but undyed is good too.

* Pearls. Real ones, but in any shape, size and color.

* Shrinky dinks! Not colored ones, just the plastic. The only place I can get it here is Wal-Mart, and I do not shop there.

Art Supplies

* Acrylic paint mediums, any kind. Matte medium or gel or glass beads (by liquitex) would be stellar!

* PVA glue or YES glue.

* Pretty papers in any size at all. I use them for collage.

Other Goodies
* Altered Books Workshop: 18 creative techniques for self-expression by Bev Brazelton

* A copy of Vouge from the last decade. Any one works, I just want to get some ideas from it.

* Anything off my wists.

About Me

Well, there is a whole lot about me on my blog (link below), so this will be short. I love getting mail, and I love crafting for others, so this swap is perfect. Also, I love answering questions, so ask me anything you want.

Here are my wishes:

A casual skirt, at least 17 long (longer lengths are nice too) A-line, wrap, whatever. Simple gray, tan, brown, or khaki would be great for work, but something made with nice patterned fabric would be nice too. I prefer wearing skirts in the summer (as opposed to shorts) so anything would really be great! I usually wear a size 6, but PM me for specific measurements.

A purse! I particularly need one that is dark brown, but anything that is not black would be useful. I like neat-looking purses (as opposed to the slouchy sort) like the Jordy Bag http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32204.0  and this bag too http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=111108.0 .
Id love one that is large enough to hold a book. I also like appliqus of animals, trees, or baked goods  Smiley I like plain fabrics and corduroy, but also like Indian and Asian fabrics and anything bright.

Messenger bag. They just look more comfy than what I carry to work. I like these ones a lot: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=111925.0

Lunch bag something that can be squished up inside my regular bag I carry to work. Right now I use plastic grocery bags, and they are just not stylish! I like this, though with different fabric: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=108168.0

Jewelry holder for necklaces and bracelets

A nestlace like this: http://www.etsy.com/view_item_sold_anon.php?listing_id=109144&pic_id=3&transaction_id=35495

A t-shirt with something cool stenciled or appliqud on it (size small). Would love one with a squirrel! Or maybe a design like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=107763.0  Or something vegetarian themed like I (heart) tofu or Give peas a chance or Asparagus Rocks!

Something for my cat, such as toys or a personalized dish or placemat. His name is Clarence, he is about to turn 11, and he is the best cat ever! He particularly likes toys that are made of rough fabric like burlap and ones that make crinkly sounds. His favorite treats are shrimp and cheese.

Something themed around one of my favorite bands, either Queen or the Divine Comedy,  like a t shirt or a bag.

Stationary

A mouse pad for work I really love this one:
http://www.cafepress.com/fplfoundation.53411727 but I don't have one at all right now, so I'm not picky!

Supplies
Fabric
Sewing patterns, especially for skirts and tops
Issues of Rowan magazine

DIY / How to Kits
Glass etching
Stenciling
Journal making

About me: I live in Massachusetts (US) Im 33, and surprise myself every time I realize it. Im a librarian and I just recently started a new job at my local public library yay! Im vegetarian and trying to reduce my environmental footprint (I walk to work!) I like animals and have a cat and usually have pet rats as well, though not right now. I also really like bunnies and frogs and squirrels and capybaras. And llamas my sister has a llama farm Smiley Ive done lots of volunteer work for animal rescues. I read, knit, and am learning to sew. I live with my boyfriend and we recently bought our first house and are painting the rooms lots of bright obnoxious colors like orange and hot pink.

I'm in!

This is my first swap, so be gentle with me if I do something really silly.

Things About Me:
I am a 37 year old single white female in suburban Detroit, Michigan. I live alone with my hairless cat, Sevie, and several Macintosh computers. I prefer jewel-toned colors and dislike brown in general. I sew a bit, bead a bit, write a bit. Professionally, I am a graphic designer at an advertising agency. I ride a 600cc scooter (that's me with it in my profile pic) and a 725cc lawn tractor. And I doubt my hair will ever reach my shoulders.

Things I Like:
- High contrast, whether in color (black on white, or red on black, loud plaids) or in character (scary bunnies eeeee!).
- Squids (and most other cephalopods).
- Monkeys. (A monkey for every room, I always say.)
- Burgeoning appreciation for dinosaurs (especially bipedal for some reason).
- Godzilla (oh, maybe THAT's why!).
- Voodoo/juju.
- My favorite movies are "A Clockwork Orange," "Harold and Maude," "The Hunger" and "Silence of the Lambs." (Geez, creepy girl much?)
- My favorite teevee show is "Mystery Science Theater 3000" (okay, not ALL creepy).
- Did you guess I like horror movies? Good ones, though. Not camp/slasher.
- "Dark" themes with major humor infused (Jhonen Vasquez anyone? Mark Ryden?).
- Skulls / skeletons / zombies / you get the picture.
- Militariana (jeeps, gas masks, tanks, bomb-sniffing dogs...).
- Erotica, esp. kinky.

Things to Make:
- Original artwork for my walls (I will frame, unless you really want to do that, too) especially erotic, not-too-cutesy-Japanese, monsterish/horrory. No pastels or abstracts, please. But any size/medium you like.
- Hard jewelry -- that is, metal or bone or such things (not so much glass) -- particularly of a punkrawk/industrial bent. (Ask if you need any sizes -- my wrists are average, but my fingers and neck are probably larger.)
- Curious plushie characters.
- Voodoo/juju dolls -- I have a small collection from shops/artists all over the place and always love to see new interpretations. (Voodoo/juju squid??)
- Things monster-related (such as trinket boxes, figures/figurines, etc.), particularly of the classic monster variety (Frankenstein is tops, with the mummy a quick second), but really anything you find monstery.
- Hand-made books with original content. (I want to read what you write, too!)
- Catnippy kitty toys for my darling hairless cat. (I wish he'd wear sweaters, I really do.)
- Urban Beast Project style critters. http://www.urbanbeast.com/
- BDSM-inspired gear of any sort.
- Anything inspired by my list of likes.

Thanks and have fun!

-Dorion
