Finally finished! This started out as a boring thrift store sweater in beige.  I recycled the yarn and dyed it with Wilton's icing dye and kool-aid.  I loved the tweedy rustic feel of it and wanted to use it for some celtic cables.  I couldn't find what I wanted so I charted my own and came up with this design and wrote up the pattern.

It also has a double knit base that creates a built in "pocket" for a strip of plastic mesh canvas that's inserted for more structure/reinforcement.

What an awesome purse!

And you recycled and put a little fun into it by dyeing it!  You rock!

If you feel the notion to post your pattern, I'd encourage you to do so...if not, I'll drool from afar and whip my brain out to figure the pattern out.

Great job!

I love verything about this, especially the color! Beautiful job and really cool of you to recycle a sweater, the extra effort shows. You can make me a purse anytime and I'm going to checkout your blog right now. Seana

Both the color and the pattern of your purse are fantastic.  That's pretty much my favorite color of green... and I love stuff with cables on it... combine the two, and you've just about got the best purse ever!   Cheesy
