those look amazing
i especially love the color you chose to dye them in
(if it is not any trouble could you explain the process to me [since they are sneakers] and what color you chose? thanks in advance)
nice thinking of how to turn plain ol' white vans to amazing-ness :]

The color of dye I used was a super dark red, Scarlet. I figured it would come out lighter but didn't expect it to be exactly this color. So it looks like you're stuck buying something way darker than what you actually want and crossing your fingers. I dyed them the same way I'd dye clothes:
Pour super hot water in a large bucket, enough to cover what your dying. Add however much dye & salt the bottle says to for that amount of water. Stir, add what your dying, stir every few minutes for about half an hour. They wanted to float because of the rubber soles so I just put shampoo bottles in them to keep them from doing so.

perhaps you could just steam the painted parts with the iron.
and when you ironed them did you just do it straight on top or have like a cloth inbetween the iron anmd the picture.

they are really hip and cute.

If people could put rainbows in zoos they'd do it.

Thanks. I did have a cloth inbetween the shoe and the iron. Otherwise the paint would have melted onto the iron. I didn't know that the very first time I made a stenciled shirt and totally messed it up Sad

AMAZING. I would be willing to pay you for some of these, even if they're not real vans. I've been freaking out in class looking at these.

This rocks button is definitely being pushed.
