After removing reflective tape, with flex mold clay I made mold. (scrap clay will work ok also)

I pressed black clay into mold, I added small flower in middle on this one. After baking I used rub n buff gold leaf to help impression stand out.

I found these semi-precious (flat on one side) stones from Flea Market.
Lucky me, these are the perfect size for this mirror impression.

Here is a silver one. I used silver rub n buff after baking.
This first tigers eye, is used without pre made mold, just mirror.  I think I used embossing powder on this one after it was baked.

I sure love this Barbie Mirror!! Grin

They're lovely! Whay a great idea. I can see I'm going to be looking at everything in a different light now! What did you use for the mould? Is it a flexible clay, or just regular stuff?

I used that flexible clay for mold but it will work with just regular clay too.  I find that mold making clay is tricky.  I find it works better if put in fridge for few mins before trying to mold it.  It gets soft super quick before baking it when handled too much.

Very pretty!  Next you have to try making your own polymer "stones" for them too  Grin

Have you done any with mica or real-metal powders instead of the Rub 'N Buff? (the smell of that stuff makes me ill... oh actually, there's a newer paste wax that doesn't have that smell and it supposed to be even better; think it's called Guilder's Paste --no, actually "Baroque Art Gilders Paste"... have some info on it on my Powders/Waxes page)

I found that once you discover how totally fun it is to make molds with polymer clay, nothing is ever SAFE again.  Unfortunately though, I became a total pack rat with my eyes and imagination, and still have boxes and piles of things to try I haven't even gotten around to yet (and may never)...eyes bigger than stomach at a never-ending buffet  Shocked Roll Eyes... sigh.

(there are more HOW-TO's about making polymer molds, and casts, in this thread too for anyone who wants more info :
