I just moved to the E.C. area. I love it here, it is quite different from the tiny town I was from. I love to do crochet, rubberstamping, decopage, and I am in the process of learning how to knit, embroider and sew. Since I just moved here, if anyone knows of any crafty clubs in Eau Claire- let me know!!

If you look in Volume One (the local paper that can be gotten for free from most local grocery store lobbies), there are a few different crafting groups in the area. I think there's a knitting group, and a store downtown (Yellow Dog Knitting) does classes. Then there's always UWEC, which might have some student-centered stuff. AND I'm considering starting a Stitch 'N' Bitch group....

atlascoughed- is that Tank Girl in your avatar?! I love Tank Girl. Thanks for the heads up on Volume One- I read it all the time, but I never saw the crafting groups- I will have to look at the one I have now more closely. If you do start a Stitch N Bitch club let me know- I've am not very good at knitting but I am anxious to learn!

It is indeed Tank Girl. At the moment I'm having to stop myself from cutting my hair like hers. Smiley

The stitch n bitch group is a maybe at this point.. i've got a very needy baby (who is on my lap atm, removing the ability to use the shift button) who will probably not enjoy being at home without her momma.

I know how that goes. While I don't have a baby, it seems like all of my friends and relatives are procreating like mad, making for lots of baby fun (and sometimes not so much fun).

I know this is probably wayyy late, but I live near Eau Claire and work IN Eau Claire.  If anybody cares.  Grin  I crochet and I do a tiny bit of sewing here and there.  I make amigurumi, weird stuff like anteaters and platypuses. Tongue

Beavisfreak-- that's awesome. Amigurumi is a favorite of mine, though I don't have the patience for it most times.
