I'm making a small pillow to hang from my daughter's doorknob, with her name embroidered on it.  Anyone happen to have a cute, simple pattern for something like this? I'm not even sure how to start searching online.  Even any ideas on how I could make a pattern - I don't trust myself to draw freehand.

Two ideas:

1) Grab a sheet of graph paper and use each box to signify 1 X.  Come up with a style of lettering you like, and then do it up with standard spacing.  Then, figure your centerpoint and count from there to get her name aligned on the final piece

2) Use MS Paint or Paintbrush, and type her name in a font you like.  Zoom in -> large size -> show grid
**You can also run your monitor at a lower resolution to increase the viewable size of these boxes.  Just keep zooming in til you can see each individual pixel - now that's one X - I did this when someone posted Super Mario pics that I wanted to cross-stitch for tree ornaments.

Good luck!

Oh, sorry, I mean the pattern for the pillow shape itself.  Smiley
