on monday my husband called me from work all upset because his co-worker was supposed to have a baby shower at work last week and NO ONE showed up! my husband was off that day, so he was excused, but he felt absolutely terrible for the guy and his wife. me too, so i whipped this puppy up yesterday afternoon while watching the first season of lost (i caught season 2 finale - now i HAVE to watch it!!) with the stitch it kit and a onesie i happened to have for another stitchery project for yet another baby due soon. i swear, it's like baby season or something!

anyway, you don't want to read all that. you DO, however, want to see pictures! and i just happen to have one:

nothing too fancy, but i liked how it turned out. it's for an older baby, 6-9 months i believe, so they'll have something ready for her to grow into. i've noticed that everyone always buys all the newborn baby stuff for pregnant families, but they don't buy any future stuff. i think i'd like to get a few things for when the baby is a little older, since they grow so darn quick! the momma and daddy live in palm beach and it's a little girl and she's due like right now.

This is awesome!  It's very sweet of you to make this for the couple -- and it's a beauty.  It's amazing how much bigger those patterns look on tiny clothes!

Very cute!  I was thinking of using the same pattern on a onesie for a co-worker from Hawaii who is expecting.  You're right, no one ever thinks of buying clothes for when the baby is a little older.  This is a great gift!
