I know this is last minute but I thought I'd give it a shot anyhow and ask if anyone had any ideas for a present to give my mom. She's a very wonderful lady and her 50th is coming up very soon and I'm blanking on what to get her.
She just came home from a trip to Italy about a week ago and discovered the art of cheese-making there. Does anyone know anything about cheese? Are there special supplies I can get her to fuel her new love for mozzarella?
She's also a fiddler for a celtic band and loves our Scottish heritage and anything related.
She is a retired radio morning show host (big talker) and now is spending a lot of her time doing an incredible job redecorating the ENTIRE house.
I love this woman very much and I hardly ever see her anymore, I just hope to give her something really special for her birthday! Thank you do any suggestions in advance!!

although i havent made cheese myself, i dont think their is any real special equiptment to buy. i was thinking to buy her a book or two on cheese making to get her started. maybe even make a simple mozzerela yourself to serve at her party. she would probably enjoy that you got involved with her interests. good luck!

If you can't convince them, confuse them.

You could make her a decorating journal/kit...

Cover a binder/journal in some cool Celtic designs... Maybe add...
Notebook/Lined Paper
Graphpaper (Office max sells different verisons)
Dividers for each room...with pockets for samples is a huge plus!
Plastic sheet protectors for floor plans and tear sheets
Plastic business card holder page for contacts.

If you sew make her a matching messenger bag or tote and add drafting pens, architects scale ruler, measuring tape (a MUST have)

Thanks you guys, I think these are really great ideas! I'm heading over to Borders soon to see if they have any cheese books!
And I found out Martha Stewart has a pretty cool version of the decorating journal.
