Help out a confused new knitter?

I am so lost with this bit.
BO 6 st beginning of next 2 rows.
Does it mean that I have to BO the first 6 st on each end?

BO = bind off.
this site has a good glossary and videos to teach technique.

Thankyou! Could you help me a wee bit more? I just can't get that 6 st line. :/ I have to bind off 6 st each at both ends? Errgh. My newbie brain cannot comprehend.

row 1 bind off 6 sts at start of row
row 2 bind off 6 sts at start of row

well, only as example, but hopefully you'll get the idea. Not having read the pattern myself, I'm assuming you're doing the shoulder shaping?

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

I finished mine! Pics when it's done washing (I used acrylic, I'm too new of a knitter).

I finished mine a few days ago.  It's the biggest knitted item I've ever made and the first clothing-type thing too (other than easy scarves and hats).  I followed the pattern almost exactly except I made 3/4 length sleeves instead of full length sleeves.  I used nearly exactly a one pound skein of Caron acrylic in a rose color.  It's going to be a Christmas present for my sister who's about the same size as me, and it fits great.  The hood is a bit short in the length, but I figure that she probably won't wear the hood part anyway.

Thanks for such an awesome pattern!

oh my gosh, this is EXACTLY what i've been searching for!!  Shocked  i just bought a super cute dress that's a little *too* sexy in the chest area to wear to work, so i need a nice little shrug to cover it up and tone it down a hair  Cheesy

i am definitely using my christmas gift cards to buy myself some yarn for this project, thank you!!
