I'm amazed you have a toddler who wants to put shoes ON! They ususally want them OFF! Wink
I know there are lots of very jealous moms out there! Wink

btw, your toddler slippers are lovely! well done!

I think he's probably just going through a phase. he never really wore shoes until he learned to walk, so I guess he just really likes 'em! plus, who doesn't love slippers?!

I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile. I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave. I will work work to elevate you, just enough to bring you down.

Your boy's not the only one!  My 17 mo old daughter is standing near the computer.  In response to the birdie slippers, she immediately pointed and said (with delight), "Shoes!"

And, of course it's an owl.  Sometimes I get in a hurry/   Roll Eyes

Those are great !!! I have a 4 year old and we have hardwood floors that tend to be a bit drafty in the winter..I'm gonna have to figure out how to whip some up for her.  Is this your own pattern?

*squeals with delight*

I was just sitting down with a ball of yarn last night to try to figure out how to make some of these, and here they are! Oh, you are too good. I second the above question: is this your own pattern? My wee boy LOVES shoes, so something he could take off easily and put back on would be great. (He especially loves standing in mommy or daddy's shoes if we leave them out.)

I think I'll be stitching a bit of leather or something to the bottoms so he doesn't go slip-sliding to his bum in the kitchen. Teehee!

it is my own pattern, but it's very easy and can be adaptable for bigger sizes. my son is 14 months old and wears a 4-5.

CH 4, slst to make a circle

CH 3, 10 DC into circle, slst to top of ch3 to join. (11 st)

CH 3, DC into same st, 2 DC into each st around, slst to top of ch 3 to join. (22 st)

next three rows: CH 3, 1 DC into each st, slst to top of ch3 to join. (22 st)

CH 3, DC into next 18 st, leaving 4 unworked. CH 3, turn and work 18 DC back and forth until the sole is as long as the baby's foot (I think I did about 6 rows).

seam up the back, then work about 2 round of single crochet around the edge, decreasing at the corners.

that's it! good luck!

****I edited the pattern to include the directions to join the rounds. I didn't realize it wasn't an apparent direction. sorry!

I love the slippers and how kind of you to share the pattern, I am going to have to try it out.  Befotre I realized the pattern was up I saw the cupcake ones and started to scream, we must own these!  They are too cute, but maybe now I can try them out.

Apologies to whoever were upset by my absent.  I was in and out of the hospital from December 2007 until June 2008.

I had a look at your blog and you were looking for away to make them have a bit of grip - puffy fabric paint that comes inthose little tinny bottles works well. Im in love withthose - i think a pair will be worked up tonight, you are incredibly generous for sharing this pattern!
