topolino..neat recon, did you make her a new dress or dye her original one?

I dyed her original one.  However, what made it really hard was that it doesn't come off of her!  While there may have been better ways to deal with it, I ended up "coloring" it with fabric pens and "painting" on Rit dye.  While I didn't get it perfect (you can see where the rit bled thru on her panties), I think I did a respectable job considering the challenge Tongue

Glad you explained that...I bought a bunchof dolls at the flea market for recon but some have clothes that don't come off...I was thinking that I would either have to start from scratch, cut off the old and re-sew, or somehow embellish--I guess it is going to depend on the doll and the look--thanks for another option!!

Fabric pens --now I need more supplies!! ha ha

Thanks Avril and Devilninny  Smiley

I won't go into the details but lets just say it was an interesting process to try to explain to my husband what "old lady" boobs should look like  Wink

Guess I better not let any of my nieces see what I did with their old Ariel dolls...I want to recon a cabbage patch doll so bad but I can't find one--going hunting this weekend--won't take much to go from ugly to uglier....

right now the DC# says this about my doll to qbmaya:

Your item was processed and left our JERSEY CITY, NJ 07097 facility on July 30, 2006. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

So I hope that means it is getting closer to her and will be on her doorstep in the next day or so  Grin

I was really extremely lucky to have been given two partners with very different talents!!!  Avril222 was my partner for a voodoo doll!!

My bundle of joy was delivered on my doorstep in the pouring rain--luckily, he was bundled up very well and covered up with junk mail and magazines (who cares about those!!!). It was weird because the box was covered on one side with a boxing mitt and a scuba mask and snorkel on the other--what the h*ll?

May I present the box, DAMIEN and his "luggage":

Here is a face that only a mother (ME!!) can love!

The birth certificate says:

                   Certificate of Rebirth
                   Name: Damien
Reborn on Sunday, July 17, 2006
                   Mother& Father: unknown
Seems to enjoy the colors black & red, people who kickbox, garden & scuba dive (ME!!!)

Finally, his "luggage" was a decorated felt roll with little clay pins--hee hee--garden tools, scuba mask, and freaking cute boxing gloves!!!

This was avril222's first swap!!! She did an amazing job --look at the black little pointy fingernails!!! The net baby bonnet is just too cute (I mean scarey, yeah, scarey--hee hee).  Thanks so much Avril!!!
