Here are some close-ups of the hoodoo doll that I sent to abbyful. I also received my doll from her this weekend... he is super-cute and I will post pics of that later today!

Front!

Back pocket!

Wings!

I love everyone's dolls so far! The 'making of' pictures for the doll recon are sweet, i love the squiggly hair on the clay doll and that kitty is just too cute for words! Smiley I also got a kitty doll in the mail for this swap, but he's a little more um... rough around the edges Wink  ...you'll see soon enough...

Warning: Another image-heavy post...

Okay, so I was away at my mom's house for about a week and then I came home to my hoodoo doll swap package! Inside the package was Ol' Gray, a rough and tumble kind of kitty who has certainly had his share of mishaps. His heart's been broken, he's missing an eye, his tail was reattached with safety pins in his 4th life and he's done his share of time at the shelter, but he somehow still manages to be cute.

THANK YOU, ABBYFUL FOR AN AWESOME DOLL! Here he is:

And finally, his mugshot!

jamesdean's doll . . . It's body and head are made of clay, the arms and legs are beaded, and the hair is spiral-y wire. It's so funky, I love it! . . .

Very cool figure, jamesdean!  When you make another one, you should definitely post it over at the new polymer clay board(s) because I'm sure they'd love to see things like that.

At my site on polymer clay info, I tend to call these kinds of figures just "abstract" and totally love them... so-o-o-o many possibilities, including mixing media of all kinds.  If you want to check out the ones I have links to, here's the page where they are:

(...click on the subcategory called Abstract & Amulets & Fetishes  . . . there are more in the Jointed category too...)

I'd like to see the kitty too.. but I don't wanna sanction topic hijacking for pics of not crafted things.. possibly an action shot of your kitty looking confusedly at your doll(s) would be okay.
