Tell me Sevs - did you go look up information on Split Enz. The colours of the bag truly truly remind me of something connected with them, but I can't for the life of me remember what.

I did go look them up, but not extensively, just a general thing.  I didn't see anything about colors, those are just the colors that I "felt".  Weird, I know.  I tend to associate colors with people or things.LOL  My poor student workers are color coded on the schedule.  One girl said, "Why am I green?"  I couldn't tell her the "why", just that she "is".  Grin

These are the covers to the Waiata/Corroboree albums (Waiata in NZ, Corroboree in Australia), along with my awesome bag

Care to spot the colour similarities? Someone? Anyone??

It's so COOL! Waiata/Corroboree has 'History Never Repeats', yet another awesome song of the Enz... *le sigh. So happy*

wicked! thanks muchly - I hope you like what's headed your way

Holy moley do I ever. I received this morning but between running off to work and running off to an interview for a second job I only barely had a chance to glance over everything and it barely registered until I was an hour and a half north by bus (and that far away from everything) that the wierd long shaped patchwork bit I'd assumed was another wierd shaped pillow case was in fact a sketchbook cover *gleeeee!* It was a bit snug on one side, but I coerced it into fitting (no harm was done to your lovely work m'dear). I think I've shown it off to my room mate about 10 times now XD I will grab some pics when it's light out.

For everyone else:
I received from Kitten Wrangler:

a home made pillow case with multicoloured spiderweb embroidery
a patchwork sketchbook cover with photocopy transfers
a spiffy pouch in random colours that looks like it might moonlight as a CD cozy.

Huzzah! It arrived! Huzzah again!!!!

I admit to being the sort of sewer who will just trace something that she already likes, and then sew and resew until it fits the way I want it to. My brain almost exploded with calculating the measurements for that cover, and then adding in seam allowances and the like. I'm glad it just fits...  Grin

The pouch thing actually does fit a CD really well - but feel free to adapt it to however you want to use it. The first I made on a whim one day a few weeks back, just to see what was the least amount of sewing and cutting I could do to make a lined purse. Actually, making those later helped me to figure out the best way to do the notebook cover.

Can't wait to see the photos!!

I received from teddybearbones yesterday!  I am in awe!  Now, she was worried that her items were too small, but they are wonderful.  We all know, "size doesn't matter", right? Wink

The songs I chose as favorites were:
Coin-Operated Boy by Dresden Dolls
The Perfect Drug by NIN
Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley
Bohemian Like Me by Dandy Warhols AND
Trouble with Dreams by The Eels

teddybearbones crafted for Coin-Operated Boy and Perfect Drug.

Coin-Operated Boy:  the necklace is morse-coded to read "This bridge was written to make you" on the inner strand and "feel smittener" on either side of the coin.  Amazing, isn't it?!!!!  Two pics of the necklace cuz I'm not sure how they'll turn out:

And earrings to match!

The for the song "Perfect Drug", she made a cuff.  The pics are of a styrofoam head and then she sewed adorable polka-dot ribbon to it (from a swap with ChloeisCrazy) and ironed it to give it a weird texture.  The part of the song for this craft was "I've got my head but my head is unravelling/I can't keep control can't keep track of where it's traveling".  Awesome!

Oh yeah, I also got a bar of Caramilk which is already gone. Cheesy  So no pic of that.  Rae said that she added that as "Chocolate IS the perfect drug."LOL

Thanks so much, Rae!  I feel spoiled and cute today in my new necklace.  It makes me smile to know what it says.

It's well after the fact now, but I'm procrastinating, and wanted to show off what I made for teddybearbones.

This is the pillowcase, with its 'spider lace'.

Another song mentioned xeroxed zombies - so I tried my hand at photocopy/gel medium transfers. These are the two successful images from the 12 I had going. It's easy, yet hard at the same time, and I can't wait to have an excuse to do more.

And this is the pouch thing that I like to make.

Those are great!  I love the spiderweb, and the gel medium turned out really nice.  I love the picture on the right!
