Built by Wendy is my new freaking hero! She designed patterns for Simplicty & they go up to size 20!

I sewed this top tonight & *I* *LOVE* *IT* it fits awesome & I think it's really flattering to my pear shaped body.
(I posted this in the 'sewalong' board too, hope that's okay)

The blouse is really cute and nicely done.  I love it.

You are probably going to get a reminder from a mod that double posting is not allowed.  I did the other day.

Looks great!  I am glad you posted this because I have been coveting that shirt but worried that it would look like a maternity top on a larger girl.  (But it doesn't!)

that looks way better in black than it does in the weird 80's plaid she has on the ad.

Thanks!

I was worried I'd look pregnant too - but luckily, I don't. I think that on a smaller person, the bottom would be more gathered & there'd be greater chance of looking pregnant - but on me, it fits just right (I made the size 20)

I like it in black too! But I want to make more! In all sorts of fabrics!

So cute!  I have this pattern but I feared making it cause I didn't know if it would make me look pregnant.  It looks great on you though!!!

That's adorable, I love anything empire-waisted, though I too have a fear of looking pregnant.  Roll Eyes

Also, I wanted to compliment you on your av, that tattoo is totally kick-ass.  Cheesy

Wow that looks great! I was a little frustrated when I bought her book and realized those patterns only go up to a twelve. Too bad, because judging by your shirt, her clothes look good in all sizes!

They really are friendly patterns for larger sizes. I recently made this blouse pattern into a dress & I think it suits me very well. (I posted pictures of it on the built by wendy SAL thread in the sew along section)

I also just made pattern 3966 - I made it out of thick wool & a thick quilted lining so it looks pretty boxy, but it's comfortable & super easy to sew & there were only minor adjustments to be made.

wendy rules!
