bottlecap belt

I recently got this grocery bag of bottlecaps and have been going crazy making stuff out of them (like here  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=106531.0and i really wanted  a bottlecap belt. So i got a belt from the thrift store and set to work.

I love the idea of a belt. 

The only thing I could come up with was a boot scraper..YOu know, you nail them cork side up on a board===, I used a board the size of my door mat and just covered it with the caps,,,,, until I had a door mat that will take the mud off your shoes...it works but it ain't pretty.   

I saw another way....just glue them to gether to make a hot pad in various shapes.

But you can't WEAR these and I am all about clothes. That's why I think you belt is a better use of these old caps.

wow - this is really nice .... and lots of work to do those little holes in them ;-) From where did you get all those bottle caps, btw?

ugghh I hated punching holes in them with the little awl and hammer. And i got them from a nice cashier at a grocery store i went to about a month ago. And thanks for the ideas, eveH!

Your belt came out great!  I always attached tacks to the inside of the bottle caps and used them on a bulletin board, but that's obviously not nearly as cool as a belt.

Thanks so much for your comments everyone! thatgirlallie, I would love to use resin and everything on craftster looks great with them, but I have never worked with it  before and still have lots of questions.
