Confused.

I was between projects and was casting about for something to do.  I've been enamored with the dragon on the SS Chinatown pattern for a while, and I had this old shirt laying around -- the rest, is (as they say) history.

Here's a close-up of the dragon.  I call him George.

And here's the detail on the collars:

I'm so excited about this shirt -- I can't wait to wear it tomorrow!!!!

Edited to add:  I wish I could figure out how to photograph his eyes to properly show what I did, but I just can't capture the detail.  They are two french knots that I made using *8* strands of floss.  He's quite pop-eyed.

That is gorgeous embroidery!

Do you maybe have a macro setting on your camera (look for a little "flower" symbol)?  That setting is perfect to capture tiny details up close...

Thanks! I'm wearing this shirt today, and I keep stopping what I'm doing to admire it (*blush*).   I will try the macro setting -- maybe I will wait until the weekend when I can take the picture with natural light.

It looks like you used some metallic thread on the tail "flames"... nice touch.  I was going to post a pic of my completed dragon, but it is woefully unfabulous compared to yours.  Plus, I don't have a name for mine.  Roll Eyes

This was a very challenging pattern for me (lots of detail, small areas, etc.) but it's a great feeling of accomplishment to have it completed.

That looks so awesome. Great way to jazz up a shirt that needed a little pizazz!
