Pumpkin is my baby. He's a Ragamuffin cat that loves to follow me around the house and loves to be held. When I was younger, I used to carry him around the house in an extra bookbag. I wanted one of those handy-dandy baby slings just for him, but they're just so expensive.

I have a sewing machine! I have a computer! I have internet!
I found a simple tutorial: http://www.ida.net/users/stace/sling.html

Voila, my kitty sling:

(He likes to be floppy  Cheesy)

He's adorable!  How long will he ride around in the sling?  I bet one of my cats would love that, the other one is way to independent though.

Pumpkin used to be about 16 pounds, but he's lost weight in the past year or so, so I guess he'd be about 14 or so.

I used a thin fleece blanket (mine was one of those airplane blankets :p), because it has a lot of give for his weight but doesn't strain my shoulder.

I love that.  I can't believe your cat will ride around like that.  I have three cats - two of which do not allow themselves to be picked up, but one, my little boy, loves to be held.  I wonder if he would let me carry him around in something like that?
