I think dafont.com is the best resource for stencils, not just fonts.
If you click on any font under "Dingbats" or "Holiday", you can find a myriad of stencils, and many already are silouettes, so all you need to do is enlarge the letter or symbol (ie. image), or download the font and type it in.

Yeah, Amanda's site is amazing. (Wow, I feel like a totally creepy stalker for knowing your name. Err...) As far as LJ, i'm in both, and I'd say the people in stencilxcore are way nicer than those in _stencilry.
