my entry for greatest garden contest - anatomically correct tomato!

So, my garden itself is not very exciting... I battle the squirrels and I try and stay as organic as possible.  We get a drought every year in Delaware, so my vegetables are usually stunted a little.  But not this tomato.  This tomato is the largest tomato I've ever grown and definitely the most anatomically correct thing I have ever seen, so far as vege's go!

But wait, it gets better!  This tomato, I kid you not, has a butt!


I held on to this tomato as long as I could but about two weeks ago, I knew it would go bad if I didn't eat it - ugh, no pun intended.  Funny thing is, no one wold eat the little penis.  The rest of the tomato was great though!

In additon to phallic tomatoes, this year I am growing (from left to right in the two pictures) Basil, sage, green beans, zuchini, red pepper, sweet bananna pepper, tomatoes (with marigolds to keep the slugs away - so far, it works), rosemary, green pepper, coriander, parsley and mini water melon.  The evil squirrels stole the first water melon when it was two inches big and now I spray them with hot pepper oil to keep the buggers at bay. 

Next year I'll be in an apartment and won't be able to have a garden so I'm trying to go all out this year.

That's the best tomato ever....you should come up with an extra special recipe to use it in. Such a tomato deserves a glamorous end.

I've been canning my tomatoes all day and most of tonight... and so I've seen a lot of tomatoes... but none of mine were quite so bold... teheehee!

Hahah! That's golden! My parents have a wonderfully huge organic vege garden and we often get funnily shaped veges...but they don't usually have butt holes My favourites were always the carrots, we'd sometimes get these ones that had grown legs...and sometimes they'd have that little male appendage...hehe... Veges are so cool!! I miss the garden now that I live away from home...buying veges is such a drag!!
