The first swap I completed was a christmas card swap. clearly no room for surprises, it's a card swap. no room for concern about small/medium/large either.

But now I'm considering joining a second, and we're back to the age old question: what's small, medium, large? For the most part I do jewelry and collaging, those would probably both be considered small. So if a swap asks for a large item, and I don't do large, my first thought is to pm the person i'm working for, and ask them if they're okay with _____.

But then it occured to me that half the fun of a swap is not knowing what you're going to get. So I'm in a real conundrum, I don't want to seem cheap, but I don't want to spoil the gift.

Advice from those that have been around awhile?

honestly to me, the guidelines for small/medium/large have a lot to do with the time involved with said craft. if for your large project you did a really detailed necklace, l would consider that a valid large item. or if you did a whole set (necklace, earrings, bracelet, ring, etc) that would definitely be a large project to me. if you don't want to ruin any surprises, l would pm the organizer to ask their thoughts before joining Smiley
