The sleeves look very pretty but they only compound the crazy numbers of ends I have to weave in now. Argh.

off topic: ZiuZiu: I love the soaps in your etsy shop. I've been knitting washclothes like a crazy for Christmas gifts and I think I'm going to order a bunch of your soaps to match them.

Yay, I cast on last night and am on the third color.  I had a few false starts- I kept arranging my needles incorrectly on the YO rows, and ending up with an extra stitch on each needle. It took me like five tries to figure out what I was doing (I was making my YO on the last needle but not bringing it all the way back around for the second needle- I was actually creating two side by side YOs).

Now that I'm going, the pattern is so much easier than I assumed and works up pretty fast!
Megaknits, I tried to copy your colorway on the first sweater, the green to deep purple, it's so pretty!

I forgot to ask in my original post, does anyone know the actual yardage used for this sweater, baby and adult?  I want to make a solid color version, it's hard to determine how much you really need since you need 7 separate colors but only use a bit of those first few balls.

i'm almost done knitting up the sleeves on this one, but had questions about closures... what have you guys been using to close up the front of the sweater? buttonholes seem too limiting since this sweater adjusts as the baby grows... any suggestions? the only thing I could think of was a cufflink-styled button closure that can be inserted between stitches.

Finito!  Finally....that border took me about 1 week to finish.  Of course, if my daughter would quit chasing my yarns, it would finish faster.

It took me too long to finish, I bumped this from the 3rd page! Oops!  I had too many WIPs at the same time.
This was a surprisingly quick and easy knit. I stole the colors from Megaknits, and I love them!  My only complaint is that the sleeves are a bit snug on my daughter (3 1/2, she wears a 4T shirt).  If I'd known, I would have done a few more increase rounds before sectioning the sleeves.  I blocked it out a little larger, but still a little snug.
Super cute knit, all in all!

KnittenChicken - that sweater turned out great! I'm glad you liked the color combo. I see that you had the last loop awkwardness with the edging too. I've yet to figure out how to make that not happen.

Yes, I hate that! Overall, the pattern was easy, but I found it to be not the most well written pattern. The instructions on the bind off were pretty vague, particularly on that last loop!  I have since tightened that up a bit, but it's irritating.  I also found a few mistakes in the pattern, some of which were noted here.
