I made these from a bunch of resistors. My mum wants to wear them to work (she works at an electrical store), but I want to keep them. They're nerdy. ^^

What do you think?

Thankyou!

I would make more except for the shortage of resistors. She'd hoarded all those for her own style of earrings, but I got inspired, took off with them and made better ones. I think it'll take a bit to hoard more, though I'm going to see if I could find some at school. It'd be awesome if I could sell them!

Woah...that's a lot of earrings! My mum hoarded the resistors from work somehow, but it took her ages apparently. You can probably buy them places, but I really would have no idea.

I've been doing some searching on resistors and here is what I found:

This explains the stripes on the resistors. I'm not sure if it will help searching for some to buy, but it is at least partly interesting:
http://www.mikroelektronika.co.yu/english/product/books/keu/01.htm

This is the only place I could find to buy resistors:

I think because I don't know really what I'm looking for that I can't do a better search.

1/2 Watt Carbon Composition about 25 cents
1/2 Watt Carbon Composition, 65 cents
1/2 Watt Carbon Film, 10 cents
1 Watt Carbon Film Resistors, 20 cents
2 Watt Metal Oxide Resistors, 50 cents

Hopefully that'll give you a good starting off point of knowing what to look for.

Ooh, those look great. I love the mixed up colors and sizes! Cheesy

I make resistor jewelry myself, and there's several suppliers of resistors I know of. Any type of electronics supplier will have them (mouser.com, digikey.com, or similar sites/catalogues), but ebay is my supplier of choice. Just search for "resistor lot" or something. I managed to find a steal of 2000 resistors for $5 once!
